Guys, I've been looking for a decent Marauder for what it feels like at least 5 years... I now own one! 2003, 300a, 78K miles, has a few minor issues with it but nothing that I can't get past. I'm the third owner.. I'll post pics soon. :coolman:

The Cobra may get jealous!

I like the Marauder. Was looking to get one but got a HDF150 instead. Always thought Ford should a done a little more to it factory wise...

Nice. I've always wanted one. Nearly bought one back in college. Never too late I suppose, if the right one were to come along.

They were supposed to, the head of the marauder project released a few PDF's outlining what was proposed or in the works. The problem is Elena Ford didn't want this car distracting the husbands in the showroom as she shifted Mercury towards a "Female" demographic, so she axed down every idea including the supercharger option that was in the works.

If the marauder team had their way, this car would have been a real muscle sedan fighter from the start.

Congrats, I was looking to buy one a while back, but bought another Speed6 instead.

Bought my 03 with 130k in 08 and sold it last year with almost 190k. I loved the car. It was not fast. It was never going to be fast unless you dumped 10 grand into it..and that might get you a mid 12 on a good day, but if you just wanted a big cool car to drive around comfortably, that's what you got.

I took mine on 4 or 5 Power Tours. Always performed flawlessly.

Yes I bought mine brand new on April 1st 2003 for $26,000 OTD with 167 miles on the odometer. Now almost 12 years later with almost 54,000 miles on her I still got her and will probably keep her till I die. I just bought a new in box replacement rim for her.

Again welcome to the club from Trilogy kit #244

Mercury, in the 60s had some pretty decent offerings..My father purchased a Marauder in 67?---had 390 powerplant and was a nice car....until someone rear ended it at 40 mph..Car took a lick and kept everyone safe. Replaced it with a 69 Charger..I always loved the Cyclone GT...

I've only heard a couple on the road. But they sound awesome with an exhaust system.

I would love to have a Marauder for vacation drives during the nice months. Forge it, Eaton swap it, put an Eibach Pro Kit underneath it and some good looking wheels, and a nice stereo. That would make for a fun travel car.

Congrats! What do you have in mind for mods?
And yes, it is addicting. I own a Silver Birch that is about to get supercharged and an Aluminator short block stroker.

I think I want to do 4.10's, Kurgan Dynotune, upper/lower control arms, K&N intake...

Anything else?

How do these fare over a 96 Cobra engine? I've seen a stock dynosheet and it's damn close to what my Cobra is putting down with mods!!
