At PRI, Eaton said the major distributors would be getting production rotor packs end of quarter 1. Roush, Edelbrock, and Magnusson are the biggest US players, then hopefully VMP and even BPS will have some news by the end of summer, but to be honest it wouldn't surprise me for SEMA/PRI to be bigger unveilings.
I'm pushing a Gen 2R pretty hard, at least on the dyno until the weather breaks, and I also debated waiting for the 2.7 TVS.
Based on discussions around PRI, I knew it wouldn't be an option his season, but if you look at my recent dyno graph, the boost curve falls off at 4500 and signifies the blower has reached its limit.
I would never personally consider the Whipple 2.9 on a 5.4/5.8.
Under 1000hp, go TVS Gen 2R all day.
For over 1000hp, we are in Whipple 3.4/4.0/4.5 ranges depending on your build strength and goals.
I'd love to adapt a front feed 4.5 on next if I want to get crazy, but 99% sure I will be going TVS 2.7 rotor pack, the only question is what case .......
Any inside updates on new 2650?
