If you look carefully, you'll see a black tow hook sticking out of the ZL1 1LE's gaped mouth. It's there because this is THE car Bill Wise used to turn a 7:16.04 on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. I'll tell you something GM won't: Bill and this car popped off a hand-timed 7:13-ish, but that's unofficial. We had the same happen with @randypobst and the 10-speed ZL1. His official time was recorded with GPS, our test guy left, and then he managed a much quicker unofficial lap at Big Willow. this is what johnny from motortrend said on instagram. what a beast of a car.

^ So with a pro driver this thing almost as fast as a '10 ACR?

I cant wait to see this car run 1:33 @ laguna seca.

1:33 is the holy grail time that was run by:
'10 ACR
C7Z
GT3 RS

What's the difference between the ACR and ACR E?

You were right in your second post. The E comes with a MUCH bigger wing, more aggressive front spoiler, and a bigger rear diffuser. Those are the main differences, I'm not sure if there are any others.

So really just the added downforce.

Exactly. I'm not a fanboy for anyone... I mean, I own a Ford store and drive a Dodge...

But I really believe the 17 ACR-E is going to demolish the Ring next month.
Nick, I'm really wanting to see that happen. Looking forward to hearing the news that it DID happen. ;)

Beat me to it!
Gm said the z28 had more in it than the .37 it turned despite it not being able to go faster than a .41 with many laps on a faster closed ring a month before.
Even today many industry insiders call the .37 lap bogus because it's not the z28 that was available on dealer lots.

In before all the
-yeah but the 350R has less power and is better
-yeah but it needs special tires
-yeah but the blower is stupid for a track car
-the 350R is a better drivers car
STFU!!
Zl1 1le is a ****ing beast!!!
Great work GM!
HA HAAAAAAA
Love it bro. I love when I hear and read that the GT350R has less power. (The fanboys LOVE using that line.)
Well,.........too ****ing bad!! Mostly all the fanboys will get all hurt about this. I love them all, Chevy, Dodge and Ford. All make killer vehicles.

So I have some cool yet unofficial lap times from Area 27 BC. All PRO drivers yet different day/different drivers so take it as you will.

2016 VIPER ACR-e - 2'10.0
C7Z- 2'17.6
ZL1 1LE (driven by same gm test driver) ran a 2'11.6 so Yea, this car is going to hurt serious feelings at willow and Laguna lol

This is a very very consistent brand new track, weather was pretty much the same for all runs but until the actual head2head comes out this is not bad for a ballpark

That really surprises me that the Viper was only 1.6 seconds ahead of the ZL1 1LE...

Yea, everyone is quite surprised. My buddy got to drive the 1le and he was speechless (also a pro driver). I don't know... I get the feeling there's a possible spit of truth in OnDbits conspiracy haha. It won't be long until someone brings one from the showroom and let's the pro drivers go to town on it.

The current track record is a 1.59 from a radical sr8

Did you mean why the production is so limited on the GT350Rs? I was watching an interview on Autoline that Carbon Revolution is producing the carbon fiber rims at full capacity. Furthermore, I believe Ford switched carbon fiber suppliers for the GT350(Used to be Plasan) and they were having difficulties with the new supplier.

CR has been at their new facility for some time now. Based on their own statements regarding capacity there should be zero issue regarding capacity with the R model wheels.

Mon at 9 am what I heard. 2.11.6 compared to Randy driving the same car as the one that ran the ring.

I don't know what Randy's time was but the GM test driver was the fastest by quite a bit, faster than Randy and faster than my buddy by 5 seconds. Whoever that GM guy is, he's a god at driving

There a lot of factors as well. Was the vehicle gm tested at 2.11 the same as the ring vehicle?

As you saw same vehicle same driver same track different day showed great difference in time at big willow.
