I do find it funny that almost every cop on this forum hasn't came on here and said they wouldn't have acted this away or how they feel let down by their "brothers in blue". Just standing quiet not throwing the gutless and "bad" cops under the bus.

I think a few have. I’m LE, and I think he pussed out. Most of the school district cops I see around here are fat women. Kind of wondering if some of the weaker officers are stationed at schools. Doesn’t explain why 3-4 of them stayed outside.

If you truly would go running in to help I respect you for that. In my view there are a few problems with going in as a civilian:
1) You're probably not well armed.
2) You lack body armor
3) The police won't be able to tell the difference between you and the real shooter
4) The students won't be able to tell the difference either
5) The legal shit-storm coming your way afterward will destroy both your life and your family's

Whether or not I went in would depend on the situation but these are all things I think about when I slide my holster on every day. There are real ramifications for going in blind and dumb. Not going in also assumes that the police will be there quickly.....not hiding behind the dumpster for 6 minutes.

I realize the chances of these shootings happening are very slim but jesus ****ing christ why is the government refusing to allow us to protect our schools. I'd gladly patrol the school down the street for a living wage.
My only concern would be myself hit by friendly fire. That is a risk. I could care less about body armor when an emergency breaks out with defenseless children or people.

As for me being well armed and trained. I really did entertain the idea of joining the PD. I endured the training. Sadly I am normally better armed than most officers.

I know CPR. I know how to shoot, and how to control my composure under stress.

As for the legal stuff; that's for the attorneys to sort out.

Despite my big words, I hope and pray I never have to be in a situation that forces me to take a life. However, if you are a threat, I only know of one safe way to remove that threat.

I'm a LEO, Deputy Sheriff if it matters. He should have gone in, absolutely, most would have. Be careful what you say, when the SHTF, what are you really gonna do? You will never know until you are in that situation. I will personally never be involved in confiscating guns, I will leave law enforcement before I'd ever do that. I do however believe we do need some changes for the sake of the law abiding, productive members of society of this great country. We will all have to sit back and see what happens. I believe this to be the last straw with School shootings. There will be changes.

The more I hear about these coward cops the more I'm glad there are still LEO's like this local guy from the next town over.

I'm not a big fan of LEO's but I've interacted with guy and his officers and they're all real decent guys.

Like most real hero's he said he's not a hero, and anyone would do what he did if put in the same position, obviously not everyone.

It was sickening how many first responders were given awards for their acts during the EXCEL shooting. I think it was almost 300 people but only one first responder actually did the real award winning act. You see this a lot now in Govt.

First off tx that’s a cool job ya got man.

Second. I can’t imagine my reaction to finding out cops sat outside while my kids got killed, would be anything short of homicidal.
Those 5 better hope.

Third. Libs acted pretty fast to get cnn and that big shit fest on screens worldwide before this all came out.

Fourth.

Memes are savage af and on point.

It is easy to judge a tactical situation from the safety of our arm chairs. I remember listening to the dispatch radio broadcast of the San Bernidino shooting where the responding officer waited for three fellow officers to back him up before entering the building. So I dont know the training prepared the officers to do.

Department policy is worded the officer "may" enter, not must. Not defending his actions nor condemning him. But how often does bad cop footage never get released and you have your boss and entire nation shaming you.

At least I know I may be in the county with the most corrupt DA in Texas, it could be worse. Guy's a liberal robot reading his cover my ass script. Quota hires ruin government. Glad i'm a tradesman, if there were quota hires there'd be no work force.

And the pawns of the left like GI Jane etc on morning talk shows and doing interviews days after, hours after this horrible tragedy. Under no circumstance would I ever feel the right or the need to be rude period but damn right disgustingly disrespectful to a sitting senator, and NRA spokeswoman that were there to have an actual discussion but knew they would get shit on.

You can absolutely bet on one thing, next Democrat to be elected President, nobody will be protesting and rioting, no raging republicans on TV shouting he's not my president! People talk about white privilege, well that privilege is choosing where I want to work, not IF I want to work.

This is the real story here IMO . Wonder how many other school districts have similar policies in place.
Probably most, suspension and arrest rates negatively impact funding so anything to reduce it. It's why my wife left teaching, no consequences for misbehavior.
