There's no bus route where I live. I'm sitting at my kitchen table looking out the window (home sick with the flu) and can see the building I work in through the woods.
Do you own a chainsaw?
shitty about flu btw

dirt bike like a boss lolHaha, yeah but it'd be one hell of a hike through the valley. It's 3 miles by road. The "safe" route is 5 miles.
They need to up the penalty if you are found texting while driving it would be 1 year in jail. They need to raise the bar where people will not do it. They also need a number to call if you see it so they can check the phone since I see it all the time.
I don't text at all so I will probably die by someone texting
I dont actually think its that insane considering it IS more dangerous than drinking and drivingA year in jail for texting while driving? Haha. ya ok...

All good points.Oh my bad your the never distracted ever driver with hands at 9 and 3, never adjusts the hvac system, never takes a drink of anything ever(and god forbid it has a cap on it cause that takes a lot of effort two hands or both legs and a hand), also never ever eats anything because food comes in wrappers that take two hands to get into, never looks out the side window(while taking his eyes off the road in front of him) at another motorist to see if he can have the mental moral high ground because that person is distracted driving in some way, and never ever under any circumstance does he look at a road sign, advertisement, or GPS screen because he always know where he is going and whats for sale at all times because only morons don't know that anything can happen in a split second......please we all drive distracted, and we all choose the accepted level of risk to us.
Like I stated before we have some fairly serious consequences now and the numbers are dropping fast. 3k fines and 3 month driving bans. If someone kills somebody doing it and they can prove it without reasonable doubt should be fricken life in prison. Nobody should die because some asshole needs to update his IGMy point is unless there is serious consequences that will make people think twice, it will never stop. Even that would probably not stop it but may make people think about it and some would not do it
OP, I represent injured parties who are involved in motor vehicle collisions here in S.C. If you think that the number of people who text and drive in this state is absurd, you'll be shocked to see the number of UNINSURED drivers in this wonderful state. You'll also be shocked by the number of people who run away after colliding with another vehicle.
You should definitely have high UM/UIM limits.
It would be a real shame if the adamant and repeated defiance of accountability and laws stated in this thread were someday used against someone WHEN an accident occurs.
No offense, but driving in a panic state concerns me. It can cause irrational decisions.Care to elaborate?
I wish I could create a Youtube channel called "Repeat Offenders" where I upload dash-cam footage of idiots being idiots, categorized by license plate. Can't do that though.
Also, I'm not a perfect driver. Nobody is. I can say with 100% certainty that I have legitimate OCD in many aspects of my life- mostly harmless but in several areas it's quite debilitating (driving being #1). My wife would gladly vouch. If I make a minuscule driving mistake, I'm swearing at myself for the next hour over it. My absolute #1 bad driving habit, admittedly, is panicking. I can only take dealing with so many idiots to where I get a full blown panic attack going and have to get out of there. This usually happens when I'm boxed in- idiot next to me is a lane swerver, moron in front of me is a handicap-tag q-tip driving 25mph under the limit, and the waste behind me is tailgating so bad I can't see their headlights. I start to panic, look for an exit strategy, and get out of there as fast as possible until I find a safe distance / bubble to drive in. This is really only in main-route city driving. Highways seem pretty relaxed for the most part.

I still do not understand why a class action lawsuit has not emerged from victims. A device that deactivates a driver's phone with a proximity device similar to one that senses a fob should be installed. Of course 911 would still be active.

I'm pretty sure this us concerning those having a conversation. Not just seeing a text.

That is not healthy for anyone. I hope she has had the chance to speak with someone, and has stopped driving for a short period of time. Anxiety is not rational, and it causes people to do off things in the midst of a fight or flight situation that is imagined.https://www.losangelesduilawyer.org...rous-dui-or-driving-while-using-a-cell-phone/

I had to look it up, because Ive had alot of friends and people I know die from Drunk driving, but never texting and driving.
Who would they sue?
I did mention the way it would work, GPS tracking/speed sensors. But as mentioned you would have to give up that freedom to not be tracked. Passengers would be able to bypass the lockout, but they could make the lockout near impossible for a driver to do. The proximity device would disable everyone's phone which would never fly.
Your dead on, it would still be the same "some" that do not do it now
Indeed I did get out the big brush.
Hopefully they never find the race section of this forum all of us would be going in the clink
My former neighbour's wife has a extreme case of driving anxiety.
She could get around town just fine, low speed(under 50km/h) and very light traffic(small town)
But put her in the same car, same day, same weather, holy shit get off the road. She was reported many times to her husband and the cops. She would panic period, certain she was going to hit the ditch for some unknown reason and she would actually drive dead center of the road and then when meeting someone swerve hard to the right(to get around them) and then Hard to the left to get back to the center. When I say hard swerve I mean to the point of leaving skid marks.
