Alright -

Car got dropped off at Paul's. He took a cursory look at it.

Blower is to loud - likely toast
Some Valve Train Noise - Can't tell because of Blower
Clutch is not setup correctly - Likely a Fork, Pivot Ball or TOB miss-match
Trans maybe damaged (A ****ING GAIN) because of the clutch engagement issues.
Rear Suspension is too loud - even with solids

So our goal right now is get the trans out and that whole mess fixed up.
He's going to pull the belt off the blower and do some trouble shooting. The car has a lower pulley which he did not seem to be a fan of and believes is what may have killed the blower (over spinning).

With that said - here are my own objectives.

Fix Transmission Issue - (Could be as much as $4k, ($1,200 clutch, $1,900 rebuild + labor). In the event the trans needs rebuilt I'm leaning one of two way - **** it, run it until it god damn explodes or buy a Magnum and sell the trans for rebuild/parts (like $500 - $800 meaning a Magnum is $500 premium over a rebuild).

If the blower is toast, which sounds to be the case - I have three options - Rebuild the KB, which I can't get a quote from them unless I send it to them and I've heard its $2k+. That's a no-go. That means either a used Eaton or an Upgrade. I'm leaning toward the Eaton - $500 to $800 for a used one, get the car retuned and sell the busted KB2.2 for ~ $1k to recoup some of that money.

So those two things should get me here -

Running Driving Car that is able to shift well, making ~ 520whp / 520 ft/tq and overall snugged up nice with 45k miles. If driving the car feels great and is enjoyable, I'll likely keep it. If not, I should be able to then sell it for around $20k I'd imagine.

If the engine and trans are toast - I want out and I'm not sure what the best option would be. Stock blower and try and get $17k? Say **** it and sell it for $15k all pulled apart and not even have Paul put the trans back in or anything?

yikes, shitty situation. These motors are pretty stout, I dont forsee it being an engine problem. What sort of engine noise are you experiencing? Like worn guides / tensioners or?

And it'd be hard to get $15k for the car in parts.....i'd at least get it back together and try to sell it running.

Fyi depending upon whats bad a t56 is worth 1200+ in parts.

Id sell the kb and buy a 2.3, people pay premiums for even busted 2.2s. Might get close to a tvs. If the same injectors and maf/intake are used you might get away with the same tune if running the same boost.

Good luck getting your car back from PHP on the cheap. One of the most expensive shops around.

Bottom end is fine. Maybe valve train. It does have a head cooling mod, but at this point, and my luck......

I understand that man. We did a full timing rebuild on a customers 99 cobra, solely for the fact he didnt like the tick noise it was making.

Fingers crossed for you, buddy. You've been through the ****ing ringer with this car. Sorry its been such a headache. Reason I wont get another 03/04 car, its just too hard to find one in GOOD shape, as majority are ragged out at this point.

Amen to that. If I ever want to do a NE again, I would just build once from scratch.

Mint V6 Roller
All New Suspension
Fresh Built Motor
Brand New Blower / Turbo Kit
MS3, 1000ID
Fuel Cell
Brand New Magnum
Body Shop do Bumpers and Hood

It would be far less then what I have into this car now, make more power and be cleaner.

That or just buy a Hellcat. I mean damn, I'm pretty much now thinking about just buying a SCAT and giving up all together. With the 6.4 you just can't mod the damn thing since it's all meaningless. Weak Internals, Weak Transmission - by the time you try and push 650whp you should have just bought a brand new Hellcat.

Last 5 car years have been rough.

Holy jesus....FWIW the 8 speed is a phenomenal transmission. Our 1200whp shop Hellcat is rocking a stock unit still. Just gotta know how to tune them. Only a few (one) guys know how :)

And the newer dodge cars are NICE. Go for a hellcat! Right @DavidHasselhoff (who hasn't been seen online in forever)

I've been doing a lot of research on the HC. The 8HP90 is a freaking beast.
Saddly, the 6.4 comes with the 8HP70 which from what I have read begins slipping at 650whp. I've seen quite a few people say the 8HP90 is still very much superior to the 10L90.

Only major issue I've seen with the HC is early cars had blower failures and the drive shaft leaves a lot to be designed if you are launching on slicks.

All of the above is correct, and you’ll have to go into the bottom end of the 6.4 before you’ll be making 650whp, so at that point it’s a moot point. We made some 700+ with a 15 Chally 392 with a procharger and E85, still on stock transmission. As with anything it’s how you treat your equipment, and not cheaping out on parts / shop recommendations imo :D

If the clutch is messed up I can't imagine anything too messed up on the transmission. I doubt a full rebuild is in order.

And even if the blower is toast I'd just slap an Eaton (or TVS if you want the power) on it and call it a day.

Hardly the end of the world, but maybe I'm jaded.
