Anyone with a 2.7L EB F150 regret not getting the 3.5?

I have 3.55s and get between 19-20 (hand calc) with mostly city driving. Someone just figured out how to adjust the trucks calculator so that you can get it to stop being a dream-o-meter and actually pretty accurate.

How much is "a lot" better?
My 2.7 lariat screw had 18” wheels and was 2wd. It averaged over 23mpg stock and I have got as much as 27mpg on a full tank. I put a level kit in it and 20” wheels and mileage went down about 1mpg.

My current truck is a 3.5 lariat screw 4x4 and it’s all stock. I average right at 20mpg. Best I’ve been able to get out of a full tank is a little over 21. If I were to buy another today it would be a 2wd 2.7 or maybe the diesel.

How else are you supposed to find the right pick-up if you can't drive your options?

That's what I've always wondered, too. I'd understand if I were asking to drive a GT350 or GT500 or something. But an F150? Oh well.

I would go test drive a 2.7. I work in truck sales at Ford and i felt the same way as you when they first came out. But after driving them they are a great engine. Obviously they dont have the power of the 3.5 but they arent slow by any means. To me personally I would either go with a 2.7 or 3.5. The 5.0 just seems slow and outdated compared to the Ecoboost's

Can't go wrong with either of the three powertrains. I've drove them all and they run great. The 3.5 is the quickest of the three for sure.

When Injected was doing my dads 2.7, i let him drive my 3.5.

First thing he said was how the 3.5 drinks gas, and i honestly think his 2.7 was way peppier than my truck.

What about with a tuner?
Looking at a couple options now and I loved my '14 Ram Laramie but thinking of F150s this time.
Any with my heavy foot but fair about of highway cruise my air ride (lowered at highway) averaged 18mpg, just a touch over my Hellcat Charger, both better than AMG ML63s SUV
