i'm not sure one can compare a mustang to those things...even with the Shelby name and a few snakes plastered on it

It wasn't a comparison to those cars. He said $85K is too much for a two-seater toy. I just listed some cars that cost [way] more than $85K and are still two-seater "toys" that can't tow 6,000 lbs, seat 7, etc. like his qualifications for an $85K Mustang.

I didn't forget about any of them, nor am I buying any of them.

I'll tell you this though, a lot less people would laugh at me for buying any Ferrari or Lamborghini for $85k compared to $85k for a Mustang... that has a heritage of being so affordable that it can be purchased on a secretary's salary... if I recall the advertisements correctly.

Top dog Mustangs have never been affordable to the masses.

I guess I read his comment differently- not to speak for @MarcSpaz but I think we were talking about mustangs (aka the two seater toy that cannot do those other things he listed) at $85K being too much, not other cars that cost way more than $85K that also cannot do those other things he listed...my guess is that he knows there are others that cost way more, and are clearly of significantly better quality, but why mention them if he is not even interested in the $85K two seater toy?

I know what you're saying, but I know several secretaries that could afford one at $85k lol

I'm going to say AT LEAST 70K and going up to about 85k max. I can't see it being much more than that. With the ADM,...who knows?!?! lol :confused: o_O :confused:

The 2013/14 GT500 had a starting price of $54,995. I would guess they get the starting price to $59,995 and then it will go up to about $80,000.

@GT Premi I am going to expand on what @Gr8fulmtnbiker said. He is correct in his assumptions. You took what I said out of context.

@Hunter98SVT said...
Hell, Expeditions break 85K+

My response was comparing the price of the Mustang and its abilities to the price of the Expedition and its abilities. Comparatively speaking, a Mustang that is a two seater toy and 1 trick pony is way overpriced at $85k, especially when compared to the dollar per value that the Expedition brings to the table.

Meaning, I can see spending $85k on an Expedition... especially if it helps me earn money. However, in my opinion the Mustang isn't worth $85k because... well... its just a Mustang.

And you really can't compare a middle class, assembly line, mass produced Mustang to a car like a Huracan. Every Lamborghini ever made was assembled by hand and they only make about 2,200 cars in total per year.

If "by hand" you mean the hands of the folks on the assembly line, sure. Every modern Lamborghini made today rolls down an assembly line just like every other car. Lamborghinis haven't been handmade since VW took ownership. Either way, the Expedition argument is still not really valid. There are TONS of other, smaller SUVs that can meet those same qualifications and don't cost anywhere near $85K. So why would anybody pay $85K for an Expedition when it's still "just a Ford" and doesn't do anything better than the smaller, cheaper SUVs?
