Definitely. Such a big disadvantage over the open major guys. If I don't finish high enough overall, I just look at how I compared to the guys in my division.Very nice limited gun, better be accurate shooting minor though!

Yes sir. I try to do several a month.Nice pickup! Do you do a lot of competitions?
That's honestly what you're supposed to do anyway, see where you compare to the Limited shooters as even if Open was shooting minor they'd still have a major advantage. Here's my Open and SS guns, posted a few pages back but I won't make you search for it.Definitely. Such a big disadvantage over the open major guys. That's really cool. I wish I could find time to delve into it. i guess I compete with myself. LOL.Yes sir. I try to do several a month.

Awesome gun. Get yourself a KDG handguard and mount that bipod more toward the front. Love it on mine.View attachment 1768766Oh yeah. New toy. SCAR 17 with Vortex Viper III
Very nice. I have a Magpul AFG for it. Just trying to maximize available rail space. If I don't like that or feel cramped (as I suspect I will), I will certainly switch to your setup. Very nice!!!Awesome gun. Get yourself a KDG handguard and mount that bipod more toward the front. Love it on mine.

Thought I'd share this video. Interesting take on Red Dots. Interesting take on new shooters and trained thought process.
I feel the same 100%. My range toy does and carry does not. Like he said the distance you would normally engage, battery, zero, more bulky, small loss of sight picture. With so much going on in that hectic moment, it would be a liability. He is pretty much on point with that, IMO.
I think the average guy will be much better served with iron sights on a defensive scenario. Irons will never fail you and will be MUCH easier to acquire while under severe stress (thats if you even get opportunity/privilege to line up sights).
Unless you are a professional or a high skill civi, that happens to train day in and out with a red dot, I would not go with a red dot on a conceal carry. I’d just leave it on a range toy, till you get at least 10,000+ rounds and never miss the dot on initial presentation.

I'm in the same boat. My two carries have iron sights. My third, and newest S&W 9mm has a red dot.I feel the same 100%. My range toy does and carry does not. I have a romeo 1 pro on .He is pretty much on point with that, IMO.

Theoretically, you should be faster and a better shot with a red dot. No sight alignment needed and you put the dot on the target. As long as you did a good job of zeroing it in of course. But I think it goes back to the video and our learned behavior.I have a romeo 1 pro on .
my sig 320...and i know im damn faster and more accurate with irons. Now ive only had the romeo for aboit a year and have not put a lot of time into it. Currently at the range with a slower pace im decent with it. But nothing like what i am with the irons ive been shooting with for 25 years
Yeah man....the red dot just doesnt feel natural to meTheoretically, you should be faster and a better shot with a red dot. No sight alignment needed and you put the dot on the target.
