There is nothing special about what you did. I had a 91 MR2 turbo and a retarded monkey can launch those things like a mad man with bigger than stock wheels.

That's nice but I cut a 1.53 on stock sized wheels(not bigger), and a 1.55 on the stock size radials, im curious to know what your best 60ft was with your 91..

I was talking street radials. I guess next you are going to tell me you managed this with all season tires right? :bored:

And I never took my 91 to the track. I bought it because it was good on gas, not because I wanted to make it fast. I have Mustangs that go vroom.

Is this awd? Forgive my ignorance of MR2s. I've seen this done with ET streets with near stock suspension in a fox mustang. I could see it as possible on a well set up Drag suspensioned RWD car with some of the drag radials out there. I'll be damned if a stock suspensioned street car could do this with stock sized non-drag/ standard street radials.

DO NOT take it to a shop, I dont know about where you live but my buddy was quoted $900 for a clutch install in his Turbo Coupe, thats BS.

You and a few friends can handle it.
his good friend owns the shop. And chris, not having the knowledge is no excuse. you know damn well cam and I will help.
I've done several mustang clutches, they are easy.

He's cut 1.60-1.70 on toyo auto-x tires. the 1.55 was on a hoosier slick that is all of 8" wide.

His car has lowering springs, and bilstein shocks. Its rwd, but mid engined.

I also learned today i have 4.10's in the car

aka RA1s? This is a dual compound tire that is equivalent to a drag-radial in wear and compound, but with stiff sidewalls that have virtually no flex. Awesome tire. Not a typical street radial. Still an impressive short time, though.

That is not that impressive. I've seen plenty of Mustangs lifting the front tires with 8" wide wheels.

The hoosiers weren't slicks, they were hoosier drag radials, 225/50/15's to be exact, on a 7" wide rim. Also I have seen cars pull the front wheels off the ground and still only cut a 1.7. My suspension setup is more for autoxing, eibach sportlines with bielstein struts, hardly a "drag suspenion setup".

And my 99 Cobra with NOTHING but subframe connectors and Eibach Pro-kit springs pulled 1.55 60'. And it weighed about 3650lbs then.

If anyone has owned a MR2 they will tell you what you did isn't anything but typical. Hoosier DRs are one of if not the best drag radials out right now. Your car is light as hell and with the motor sitting on the axles it makes it an idiot proof car to launch. Been there done that. Infact the owner of my MR2 is on this board. Do a search. He has a yellow 03 Cobra and a red 91 MR2.

And you cut this 1.55 on a 225 drag radial? My car really isn't that light for a 2 seater, 2960 with me in it in race form, over 3000lbs in street form.

Wow...what a debate now.

Everyone has done everything, and everyone knows someone.

I think Stopsign32v should be the most decorated Mustang Enthusiast in the world. He has done it all apparently. 10's on stock shortblock like 5 years ago, 1.5 60's in a Cobra that has nothing other then subframes and lowering springs, ran an 11.4@120+ in a turbo Mustang, but forgot to mention the turbo.

I love the internet.

Ya, and he for some reason refuses to post any timeslips/videos of his "mustang" running :lol1:

Where is the video of your 1.53 60'?

There are 5 people off the top of my head that know me personally on this site. And infact the only time I ever ran my Cobra at the local 1/8th mile (greer dragway) there was a thread posted on the upstate SC message board of the GM owners asking if anyone knew who owned the black Mustang that was lifting the 17" wheels off the ground in 1st and 2nd. :D

And search through my past posts and show me and the other people on here the link where I "refused" to show my time slip. Hell I invite you or anyone else to meet me at the track. I much much rather run at the track than the street! Bring your 1.53 60'er and I'll show up on street tires. ;-) I'll even be all motor.

whoa whoa... Everyone needs to calm down. None of the posts are worth calling BS about, and very likely, none are BS.
