Ofcourse that would be a better route for some, but you have to realize, money isn't the object for everybody. Like it or not that's just how it is. I wasn't looking for the best value when I bought this car, I was looking for the best production Corvette GM had to offer. And when they build one better than this i'll buy that one too even it costs twice as much! :)

Fair enough.

:lol1: Seriously guy, this posts is desperate and pathetic. I can't believe you actually took the time to write all this crap. Shows your level of envy towards me, makes me proud. :loser:

It's sad that the only fault w/ the LS1 you can point out is the factory block. Like it's so damn difficult to go out and get an iron block. Seriously, how far are you going to go with this stock block thing?

There you go again. Obsessive Compulsive I tell you.

Your getting more ridiculous each post. I can't even take you seriously. :lol1:

NEWSFLASH: Whenever I wan't to drive a Ford GT i'll just ask my brother for the keys to his '05. As a matter of fact I might go pull him from Stangnet for a quick minute to chime in on this thread and give you guys the real scoop of the Ford GT from an "ACTUAL OWNERS" perspective!!!

For the record I was actually going to buy a FGT way back in 2006 but decided not too since my big bro will gladly hand me the keys whenever possible. They are fascinating cars and I don't think anyone could ever know how much unless you've actually driven one. Case closed on that topic. NEXT!

Actually "Black99Cobra" or whatever his name is was referring to the price of the ZR1. And FWIW, the first ZR1 car #0001 sold for 1,000,000 on Barret Jackson in 2008....to Jay Leno. I'd say that's a pretty desirable car too.

Barrett-Jackson: First 2009 Corvette ZR1 Sells at Auction for $1,000,000

Because obviously no one notices my ZR1. Nope, not one compliment yet. :lol1:

What's a "SuperSnake" again :??:

Wait why did you come around our SVT forum swinging your GM sack around again? Last time I checked its an SVT performance forum, which refers to Ford's Special Vehicle Team.

You act as if your ZR1 makes you godly. Just wanted to let you know that there are plenty of cars on this forum that would leave your ZR1 for dead on the track.

"LS3 6.2 liter = extension of pen1s size"......that's it. A lot of time people said Vette's drivers are cocky. Guess what, I refused to believe that until now when we have TROLLs in this thread. Most Vette drivers think they are big and bad once they're behind the wheel, why????? look at my quote. Sadly there are many decent Vette owners I know around this area. They are real car guys and they have respect for others. So for Mr Arctic and all your boyfriends in here, you give Vette driver a bad name.

Hmmm... do you guys smell that? I smell bullshit. The picture that you posted as your own on pg 19 was a promotional shot for the ZR-1. Mentioned here:
" Sam Abuelsamid, our colleague from the English edition of Autoblog, was invited by GM to its Design Centre's look at a couple of vehicles that will be displayed in the Hall Detroit next week."

Here's the link with that statement:

Here's another article from 2008:

Here's another article with pics that are clearly from the same photoshoot: 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: Revealed, Officially!

Oh and here's a link of the same car that you have in your sig:

both ZR1's retired
a saleen S7 won the gt1 category

two of three matech ford GT's finished ahead of the ZR1's. that means they beat them.

the third matech finished ahead of the final C6R.

i guess the Ford GT is still racing. and beating ZR1's at the track. :) maybe you should check things out first. eh?

WTF are you talking about? ALMS, that's here, in the United States, where Ford vs Chevy matters most. The C5R and C6R DOMINATED GT1 for YEARS... YEARS. 24 hours of Le Mans as well. Where was Ford? Who knows? Certainly not on the track, that's for sure.

What's this about some Matech BS? Euro racing? :bored:

wow you got me there. every truck has an all aluminum dry sump 4 valve engine. i should have googled it first huh

God damn you're a ****ing idiot. The DOHC 5.4 was introduced into the Navigator, a Ford truck dumbass! Who cares if it got a dry sump? The LS9 isn't a supercharged Camaro engine, it has a dry sump too! :gtfo:

And while SOME 1999 model 5.4L's had a problem with spark plug threads, that was over 10yrs ago and hasn't been a problem since.

Some? I make a good living fixing both the spark plug missiles in the 2Vs, and THE CURRENT 3V that refuses to let it's spark plugs leave the heads - literally. I'll give Ford some credit, they fixed the spark plug retainment issue with the 3Vs. Now, they don't come out of the head without breaking. Ever seen the 3V plug design? Ford engineers :rollseyes

I should go back and quote you where you claim to know everything about every platform, including the mod motors. But you're not worth it. The DOHC 5.4 was introduced into the Navigator FIRST in 1999. The 4.6 didn't provide enough torque, so Ford stroked it into a 5.4 for their trucks. The SOHC 5.4 was a turd, so for the Navigator they put a better breathing top end on. The Cobra R, in 2000, got a modified Navigator engine. How do I know this? I sat through the NMT (new model training for morons like you) at my Lincoln/Mercury dealer at the time.

This thread is getting way out of hand..

Honestly, IDC who is faster.. I didnt just buy my car for speed. I thought it looked good, got damn good gas milage, and sounded good. If a bolt-on mach is faster.. Good for them. They obviously got a nice performing car!

At the end of the day, someone will always be faster.

I'm not sure why everyone always gets soo hung up on stock times either.. I personally care about what it takes to get a certain platform to break into the 10's, 11's, and 12's. As mentioned above, who will honestly keep these cars stock? I've only seen 1 stock 03/04 cobra ever! And just a handful of fbodies.. Which were in the shop I used to work at getting mods done..

I thought it was nuts that a '11 GT ran a 10 second pass with JUST bolt-ons, tires, and a tune. THATS what we should be talking about.. Not flaming away eachother, about what platform is better in stock form. I really dont a **** about that either. Both cars are great for what they are. Both will hold their own on the streets.. And both have their own advantages and disadvantages. I wouldnt mind owning either..

dumbass the 99 model year navi was a 2 valve. 2000MY was a 4v just like the 2000my cobra r is a 5.4 4v. you think they designed the cobra R after the truck motor?
