i'm thinking about having my tvs polished. the polishingshop.com has good pricing compared to steigmeier and mirrorfinishpolishing.com, but i don't know much about them. has anybody used them?
anybody have any other recommendations for reputable companies that you'd trust polishing your...
i've had this sitting in the garage for a while, but i finally got it installed this weekend. i pieced together my own fittings and use a stainless steel hose for some added shine under the hood. this thing is a SNUG fit. it should be interesting when i try to drain it for the first time. maybe...
bangastang WHO? lol
well, i FINALLY got these pieces painted and cleared (both OEM pieces). i say finally because it was a long drawn out process that we had to redo a couple of times. brian (from pancoast) said this would be a TOUGH DIY project, but i went ahead and tried anyway. i found out...
well i thought this would be a fun DIY project...turns out it was.
before i go any further it's important to note that i had access to professional paint guns, but you could do this with aerosol cans and still get a good result (i think). we also used PPG "Shop Line" brand poly paint...
after a lot of research, help from some great forum members, and my neighbor i got my coil cover project finished this weekend. i polished the fins and painted the rest kona metallic blue. i plan on doing a more detailed write up this week, but here is the finished product.
so i'm getting ready to paint some engine pieces over the weekend with my neighbor's help. last night he says "why don't we go ahead and paint your valve covers too while we're at it" i immediately thought "ah hell", but once i pictured the new look in my head i was in. the only problem is i've...

ouch!! this is one lucky guy..
yes, i'm a jackass and put about a half a tank of 87 in my car. i only drive it on weekends and i'm used to putting 87 in my company car all week. out of habit i just pushed the wrong button. tried to siphon it out with no luck, so i ended up filling the rest up with 93. so i've got a 50/50 mix...
Anybody have tire suggestions for a 19in rim? I'd love to have some Nitto 555r's but they don't make it in a 19. I see they make the NT05r in a 19 but it's a 305 and I'm not sure if it's too wide for a 10pm wide rim.
Thoughts?
it's hard to say in a title, but who has done the work themselves?
i thought it'd be a fun DIY to paint/polish my coil covers, but i've never done it before. does anybody have any tips or tricks you used when doing your own? what tools will i need?
i'd like to paint them kona blue, but...
thanks to BJ and a great write up on the "how to" section, we got the VMP TVS installed today with absolutely no issues whatsoever. BJ has been super patient with me over the last week or so answering EVERY question i had no matter what time it was. he was even on the phone with me around 10pm...
needless to say i didn't sleep good last night thinking about this install, and when i did sleep, i was installing it in my dreams lol... obsession? but of course! hoping for a good turnout with no issues!
anybody got any last minute advice?
well, it's been over a year in the making trying to prep my car for a bigger blower, and i finally pulled the trigger on a VMP TVS.
i've got to thank BJ for doing an excellent job of working with my budget to get what i wanted. not to mention he was answering my last minute questions around...
