Come over some time, I'll show you the side-by-side difference between artwork (Ford GT) and mass market (Ferrari). Different levels.

Bit,

You should just preface all of your post with "I hate everything GM, no matter what".

Step away from the edge, everything will be fine, and life will go on.

Arguing over who made a "real" effort is completely retarded. This is simply a little gamesmanship meant to blow up the internet.

And don't even bring integrity into this.

Who sent their car to a Motor Trend comparo against the Enzo and Carrera GT with a pulley and tune?
Who recently got busted for overstating gas mileage on lots of cars?
Who removes parts of the interior out of their trucks to increase their tow ratings?

They ALL have dirty laundry.

So gm who takes a entire team and who knows how many days of testing and tuning they take to get their best time possible by whatever means possible(non oem).
And people question why their press releases show good numbers? That’s funny!

Yes a pro driver who shows up in flip flops a T-shirt taking selfies at 158 through turn on a one and done speed lap all the while being asked to preserve tires.
Meanwhile marketing runs takes weeks and months of preperation(Porsche said they take up to 6 months to get their best ring times) while running hundreds of laps only to pick and choose their best one.

Not to mention gm lack of integrity from years past...

You're still just trolling here. You went from the GT sucks to it's a fantastic product. That's not an "old crusty" Ferrari. It's a 1200 mile 458 Spider that I'm looking at 15 feet away. It was about $350,000 new. Significantly closer in price to the GT than a LaFerrari. There is no comparison. Look at any series production Ferrari and it's the same shit.

You're also trolling on the MM bit. I know you're not really well-informed on this stuff but I'm around MM quite a bit, and when I am, everybody is in their orbit. Do you think GT is more prestigious than a 2.5 million Euro AMG Project One? Because they are up to their eyeballs in that one too. Ditto on the AM Valkyrie. MM does a ton of shit for everyone, GM included, Ford just isn't obsessed with hiding it. You won't see Ferrari sportscar talking about their MM suspension components. MM even gets cheeky in their race publications ads saying congrats to the customers they can name and the customers they can't. I know a ton of Ford guys who've worked 24/7 on GT for several years. It's disrespectful for the uninformed to act like it's an MM project. It's a partnership with an organization very accomplished in racing, which is what you need building a homologation special.

I'm flattered that you would consider the GT apples to apples with LaFerrari. The base price on GT is about $1 million dollars less. Says a lot that you consider them as worthy of comparison.

Is that true? What's worth more? A 2005/2006 GT or any comparable mid-engine V8 Ferrari of the era? 360, 360CS, 430, 430 Scud...I'll save you the trouble; it's the Ford, by a very large margin. People have paid 8 figures for original GT40s. It wouldn't take 15 minutes to sell the 17 at $750,000 over MSRP right now.

You're right though that this is not something you could experience with a GM product, which goes back to your original point that there's more to owning cars than a number.

Sounds akin to relationships manufacturers have with Cosworth, no?

Show me where I said the FGT sucks? SHOW ME.

I find it funny that you try and compare the best Ford has ever “made” vs a mid entry Ferrari car.

Like I said... Since “you” want to compare Ford to Ferrari, compare the best of Ford to the best of Ferrari. Let me know how that works out for ya.

Im happy to see you admit that Ford had to request help from a foreign performance oriented company to bring to life their halo car. Not just with small bits and pieces but instead as a major contributor to the whole process. Glad we agree there.

Now, since you want to bring up prices of cars. Compare Ford’s most expensive ever car sold to Ferrari’s. Let me know how that goes!

In summation, here is a real life depiction of Ford fanboys (young lady) reaction to the ZR1 (Potus) snatching the record from the FGT:

Ok.

Not a big fan of the FGT at this point.... Treynor dodged a fart.

The fact that the camaro, viper and vette are as close as they are to it, is sad.

Car being built / outsourced to a Canadian shop, while getting paraded as a true Ford / American product to the ignorant masses, is a disgrace.

I guess you didn't use the word sucks, but you used the words "fart" "sad" and "disgrace." Cue the nonsensical dissembling. You should probably ask @treynor if he would buy one given the opportunity. As a true vehicle enthusiast, I'm guessing he would probably like one of the remaining units.

You don't really think it's funny to compare, uh, comparable cars. You're just super committed to trolling and are looking to escape the idiotic logical inconsistencies you've trapped yourself in. Nobody seriously believes what you're saying here because it's extremely dumb.

I'll give you a second crack at this one:

P.S, you're getting so worked up you're posting totally redundant stuff in the same post. Relax.

Oh boy....

“Treynor dodged a fart” was used as a way to poke fun at the recent chain of events that just developed. Lol.

The use of the word “sad” indicating dissapointment to the fact that regular joe cars are keeping up with “Ford’s” best ever, does NOT imply “FGT suck”.

The use of the word “disgrace” was used to express my opinion in regards to FoMoCo triying to pass off this new FGT as their creation, while actually being created/built in conjunction with a foreign performance organization. It does NOT imply “FGT suck”.

Basic reading comp... lol

I’d also be interested to know in whether Treynor would be interested in being a left over / second rate option of a customer for the FGT. You know, given the opportunity be allowed by Ford.

If he is, he is a better man than me, as I would not buy a product that deemed me and my money / lifestyle not good enough for them, the first go around.

There are no inconsistencies in my story. No bias. No dumb.

If you were humble enough to see past your obvious bias, you would see the light in my statements.

I guess I understand why you are so sensitive about the subject, after all the ZR1 just slapped the taste of “victory” out of your mouth.

I get it man, you don't really know much about this kind of stuff, and as a troll that is difficult, so you've got to hop from illogical argument to illogical argument. "Nuh uh, that's different because I said so lol." Really? Is it "laugh out loud" funny? In addition to working on your troll skills, try not being a teenage girl.

This was the effort of someone of extremely middling intelligence. Disappointing for a resident troll.

I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying that was gms best effort, and they took multiple laps of not multiple days to get those numbers....I would even argue with non oem spec. They have don’t it before.

GTS, no just I don’t trust anything GM. The C6Z is a fantastic car!!

So, you have the link that states this was a multiple day/track day event and the the car was non OEM?
Because the non OEM comment you made is false from what I posted in this therad. The ZR1 that was tested is just like you can buy, only exception was a harness bar and harnesses.

And do you have the pre and post lap inspection with computer read outs of tune, boost, a/f ratios, with a fuel sample and corner weights stating it was oem?

To answer your question, gm has in fact posted non oem vehicle performance times as oem in the recent past.
