03 Cobra vs 2010 gt500

Has anyone made this change? And what are your opinions.

We Just traded our 03 Cobra for the gt500 but we have only been able to put about 3 miles on the car(Wisconsin...). :fm:

I have had both, and all you really have to do is sit in a 2010 and then sit in a 2003 and you would ever wonder how you lived with that patetic interior. Performance wise, they are probably pretty close due to the weight advantage, but if you are someone that cares about the total quality of a vehicle, there is no finer mustang than the newest models.

Agree with the above. I loved the 2003, but the interior was sparse to say the least. The quality of the 2010 and creature comforts are worth the price IMO.

I just made the switch myself. I loved my 03, but the 2010 GT500 is an amazing machine. I'm very glad to have made the switch. I will miss the 03 a little though.

I wish my 03 had the center console of the newer stangs. I hate reaching for gears lol but the new interiors are def awsome looking for sure.

Oh man please dont make regret not buying the 2010. I weighed out the car payments and decided to buy an 04 to pay it off and own it outright. Seeing posts like this make me reget my choice.

I'm in the same boat as you. Just traded in my 03 cobra that I had since June of 02. But haven't really had a chance to drive the 10 due to weather. (Ohio) The quality of the 10 is so much higher and I thought that my 06 GT daily driver was so much better quality than my 03 and the 10 blows the 06 away.

i had an 11k mile 2004 comp o terminator that took a prize home in every car show over the three years i owned it. modded exactly like i wanted it, and i had no car payment. i sold that and a 2000 cobra r with 8000 miles on it for my 2010. the best move i ever made.

i had an 11k mile 2004 comp o terminator that took a prize home in every car show over the three years i owned it. modded exactly like i wanted it, and i had no car payment. i sold that and a 2000 cobra r with 8000 miles on it for my 2010. the best move i ever made.

I don't think I could own a vert gt500, just to me doesn't have the look I want in a vert. The 2010's to me aren't as nice looking as the 07-09 cars but thats personal taste. Performance wise, with the right money spent the right way, you can really get a lot more out of the GT500...

It will be ok. Just wait for the 2011. My GT500 feels slower than the 03 did. The 03 had 100 less horsepower too.

I had the same problem had my comp O bought the 08 shelby and thought about keeping both cars. I decided I wanted to eat so I sold the 04 I miss that car

I sold my '03 10th Coupe in November and ended up with a 3k mile '07 GT500 Coupe..... The '03 was just as quick and handling was a lot better plus it was a lot more nimble. I keep reading that the GT500 just needs a few parts and it will handle better and hopefully get rid of the horrible feel hop. Its sad when you can be rolling into the throttle in 3rd gear getting on the entrance ramp and the rearend wants to shake your teeth out. I just cant see how this car ever made it through quality control/R&D testing w/o it being addressed. Anywho, I have ordered springs, roush upper control arm kit and lower control arms.... if the car still pushes like a 2 ton brick and wheel hops then I will be going back to a 03/04 Cobra.
