Bring back the 351. I want it to make around 400hp N/A. If Ford can make that kind of power on a N/A motor that would rock. Remember, there is no replacement for displacement

Think of the possibilities.........:-D :-D :-D

With bolt on 03 Cobras making over 600RWHP with there little blown 4.6'es... I dont see any logical rational for adding a larger heavier engine to the equation when fords already got a real winner going for it as it is.

I would like to see the Gt40 Motor; after seeing the article in Hot Rod Magizine thats what I want and being aluminum it would be lighter. They talk about it in detail and some of the changes make it the strongest block on the bottom end in the Mod engine family. If it was N/A the 351 V-10 in the Project Boss Mustang it put over 425 horse power to the ground.

I'd love to see that 427CI V10 in the new Cobra... beleive you me I would lol... but, its much more realistic to beleive we'd see that within the rails of a 150 thousand dollar car before we'd see it between the rails of a stang. :(

I would love to see a normally aspirated 5.8l DOHC V8. Bring back the 351 in DOHC form would be sick. Build it up with high compression to be a beast making around 450 HP. Sounds good to me!!

Ford GT engine is 2000R engine only improved alloy block, plus blower, plus improved heads, rods, pistons, dry sump, etc.
the new gt40 isn't a "40"

They should have called the new one the GT44 because everyone gets it confused with the Mustang GT :bash:

The fiancee and I are looking to add another mustang to the family( four cars total between two of us). Looking at a couple years down the road and really interested in the new mustang, (sorry just a gt) convertible of course. I would really like to see them put in a 5.0L mod motor. Cobra could get that plus a twin screw. Thats something I see as being reasonable and very possible. Ford was testing that 5.0L a good year to year and a half ago when I visited the dyno lab. I sure hope they bring into production.

I agree with some of you the Cobra R 5.4 with a K/B. Will be a great choice for 05 Cobra. Some thing better than a 2v motor will be great. It's time Ford take on the c6 vette and better. I bet the price will be around 40,000- 45,000 range.

5.0L DOHC N/A 390(underrated)HP, T56 w/ .50 6th, 26spline input shaft, Solid Axle, 4.30s

yes, choice A = the svt cobra, and choice B = the shelby gt 500.

this would be awesome. even better if they came standard with koni adjustable coilovers. then we would all be  ford and shelby.:burnout:

I am afraid of what the 05 will be like. I love the 03/04 Cobra, Mach 1, and GT but what kind of OBDII crap will they be sporting in 05? I will stick with the 5.0 right now and see what the future holds.:)

It's already a 4 valve.....so it's better than the 2 valve now.

I'll bet $10 to a bottle of piss it's gonna be a blown DOHC 5.4 liter.
