i take the vette. i driven a viper and it's small inside. the tunnel get hot and the done of the v10 get on my nerve. i get the viper the wow factor and the look, but i want more than that. and as far see them everyday that not a reason to not want one. their more mustang and camaro on the road than vette. i buy a car to drive everyday not to sit in the garage or driveway.the only car i think is better than a vette for everything is a 911 turbo. that a car with good seats and well built inside and out.

Being 6'5'' im going with the ZR1 no question about it.The viper is wayyy to cramped for me where as i've ridden in a C6 Z06 and I could just about fully recline in that thing. But both are sick cars for sure!! I just like the vette better. I think the ZR1 has wow factor as well. When some punk pulls up beside you and thinks he is going to walk all over a regular C6 vette and you end up spanking him by 10+ car lenghts....i promise you he is going to be sayin WOW!!

ZR1, I could care less if it was as flashy or had the wow factor. In real world driving the ZR1 would be an awesome all around car for the street or track. The ACR is a sweet car but it's not something I would want to own for the money.

Although there is a ACR in my town that is black with a blue strip and black rims... it looks sick.

ha ha, yeah right..Jamie ran his ACR and ran low 11s@129mph, his ZR1 went 10.7s@133mph. If both raced each other on the street from say a rolling start the ZR1 would easily pull 5 cars.

The Viper is just sick though..We are all accustomed to seeing 100s Vettes, but when you see this....

Actually, the ACR is not ment for straight line racing. The wing and front splitter create enormous downforce, which equates to a ton of drag.
The SRT 10 Viper is much faster at the 1/4 mile than the ACR, simply because it doesnt have the wing or front splitter. At 150mph the ACR Wing has over 1200lbs of down force. Anyone care to guess how much drag that is!

The ACR is still fast but it is ment for the big track. They absolutely dominate on the big track.

Another little bit of info. The Z06 is actually a superior big track car than the ZR1. The Zr1 is better for straight line racing, while the Z06 is better for the big track.

As for Viper vs Vette. lol Viper all the way.

I am gonna have to agree with this! I drove a Viper GTS the other day and did not like it at all. Actually disappointed. The seating position sucked.

I pick the ZR1! That is a DD...no way you drive that Viper daily.

What were you expecting it to be a lexus?

Why bother looking at Vette's or Viper's if you are looking for a cozzy daily driver. You might want to look into getting a Caddy or a Lexus.

Race car's are not supposed to be comfortable. They are made for fun and performance. Hell don't even think about a Saleen S7 if you don't like a Viper GTS.

Vipers are raw race cars. They are made for people who like to Drive a car, not be driven. People who like nanny governor's need not apply.
Not to slam you, but you have a consumer reports mentality. It wasn't comfortable. Lack of Cup holders! Or it wasn't very roomy!
What the #$#% are you thinking. It is a high performance exotic sports car! It is not supposed to ride like a Caddy.
Corvette's are designed to be daily driven sports cars. Vipers are not.

Vipers, Ford GT's, Saleen's, Ferrari's and Lambo's are exotic supercars.

Corvette, Mustang, Porshe, Camero, are sports cars ment for daily driving.

Perfect example is the Shelby GT500. The stock suspension is terrible. It is soft and the bushings are so bad they cause Wheel hop. Upgrade it to a Griggs (like I did) and the car transforms into a road grabbing beast.

He ran a 10.92 at 129 in a bone stock Gen 4 SRT-10 vert though. 4 seconds on the Nurbergring isn't all that great of a difference but the fact that it was done with minimal effort is huge.

Based off looks: Viper

Based off functionality: ZR1

That Viper is too much car for me (even though it's slower) it's too brutal of a car to drive everyday. I'd take the ZR1.

Have owned a z06 and currently drive a viper gts as a dd. I had them both for quiet some time. Sold the Z06 and kept the viper. I drive my viper everyday and average about 300 miles a month. I would take the 09 ACR over ZR1 any day of the week.

Dude, I said, "Just as fast." That means the Viper is just a couple of clicks behind, but not significantly behind. Inference owns you. :bash: Would you like to address the other 4 criteria I used?

2 tenths is not significant. Neither is 3 tenths. A half second (.5) is considered significant.

Uhh I did address them in my other posts, I said I'd rather have the Viper. :kaboom:

It's not just as fast, that's the point. 4mph traps is a BIG difference, (4mph in traps is easily 4-5 car lengths). Also, the ZR1 is traction limited and may even run a tenth or so quicker in the future, (they have trapped as high as 134mph). Saying a 133-134mph car is as fast as a 129mph car is simply not true. :smmon:
