well, looking at the factory hp/torque figures between a 04 GT and 04 Mach1, the GT isn't to far behind..

260 hp@5250 rpm / 302 ft lbs torque@4000 rpm (Mustang GT) and 3347 lbs
310 hp@6000 rpm / 335 ft lbs torque@4200 rpm (Mach1) and 3469 lbs

I think that your gears and tires had more to do with it than anything..

Nah, I'll run him in her bolt on Mach if she is ok with it. He just made it clear that a SOHC 2v needs nitrous to beat a bolt on N/A 4v.

I have a friend with a N/A 2valve that would run you, too bad your on the other side of the country, he just ran at woodburn today 10.79@125 with a shitty 1.54 60ft (he was cutting 1.41's at our track last week). I will report tomorrow if the track gets better, his best 1/8th mile so far is a 6.79@100.

The gears and tires definately helped. Later that day when I went to pick her up I ran up on a black cammed LS1 SS that I wanted to get lined up to at the redlight in her car. His tag read SINISTR. We didn't get a redlight and he turned off later up the road. That would have been a fun race.

Well you seem to think that 4V's are the cats meow, have you ran that fast with your 32valve killer? :lol1:

I ran 10.9@126mph in my 99 Cobra with the stock LONGBLOCK.

And keep in mind I also own a 2v

Really?

Thats awsome

Really. Racing @ 4800ft sucks as much as your respect for other mustangs. Stock 2V PI GTs ran 13.9s in good conditions all day long @ sea level when they first came out. Racing at this altitude you loose a full second and 7mph at trap. Considering I got a 2.2 60ft on that 14.01 run on street tires I would say a bolt on GT running high/mid 12s in CA/FL/TX or wherever youre withing 300ft above sea level in good conditions isnt that bad. So what are you running at your altitude in that car with 4.10s and 315DRs? I realize you have seniority in here, but I cant help to also realize that every forum has its handful of douches and 20-ish posts in I have found one of them. So keep it up, I see 90% of the posters in this thread already love your so called "sarcasm".

Bolt on SOHC 2v's shouldn't try to race anything.

The thing is, the faste car does not always win. I had an 04 GT with only a couple bolt ons (4.10s, 275/40/17 nitto DRs, drop in K&N, O/R-H, and a canned predator tune). I raced two machs and beat them both. From a dig it was murder. The one roll was very close with me edging him out a little.

A well driven 2V can stomp the shit out of a 4v with an average driver.

Do you really think he was spraying, lol. I ran a 12.1 @ 118 in an 01 GT with boltons and 100 shot, do you think that your bolt on mach can hang with that N/A? Better bring out the other car.

BTW, theres no ruffled feathers here. Just putting a couple facts out there:D

The gears and tires do make a huge difference, but the nach is quite a bit quicker in stock form and the gap even gets bigger as you mod both cars.

You also cant go by the stock ratings. The GT's numbers are about right. Id say that the machs are slightly under rated.

Another person comparing a nitrous 2v to a bolt on N/A 4v. Atleast you guys are being realistic.

DANG your 4v is so bad!!! its loud and has wide tires!! unbeatable!

sick man!

what a load of bologna. you act like a bolt on 2v has never ran 12's...and if i recall u only ran a low 13. regardless there are some bolt on 2v's that would run the same time as the mach u have. of course, they have more bolt on's than the mach but u talk like even a full bolt on 2v could never keep up
