Yeah guys, I thought the L would get dusted. Turns out we were wrong.

Also, we ran from a dig and the Lightning pulled ahead by two cars at about 60 or so mph. I unfortunately didnt record it :(

The camaro being not broken in has nothing to do with how fast it is. GM has no "break in" period in the cars programming or anything.

Thursday I raced one from ~30 in third gear to the top of third. I gave him the hit, he pulled half a car on my instantly but by the time I let off at the top of the gear he was a car behind me.

Funny thing i, he was telling me my car was beautiful after the race! He seemed to be a pretty cool older dude.

Racing in 3rd gear at 50, thats the problem with the race right there. Stock Lightnings trap around what like 95-100 mph in the 1/4? Good runs for the Lightning.

If you call that bad footage you should see the other shit people waste our time with. If only half those vids were this good. Thanks for sharing.

Racing from a 50 roll with the eaton on a stock block will get you no where fast like seen in the video. Go from a dig and/or a lower roll.

I'd like to run into one and see how well I do since I have the 6lb pulley.

I did expect the SS to walk the Lightning from the get-go. So kudos to the Lightning for holding its own until higher mph. Gotta hate all that weight, LOL!. Broken in or not, the SS driver was WOT and I doubt the result would be different 1,000 miles from now.

Hey Venom, that is one awesome Z06 you have there. :)

 THANKS Bob,

Seriously a 50mph roll in 3rd gear in the Camaro? 40mph in 2nd? No wonder.

1st gear ends at 54mph... WOW. 40mph would have been 4900rpm in 1st with plenty of room (6600rpm limiter)

50mph in 3rd gear is 2900rpm, 2nd gear goes to 79mph. :nonono: 50mph in 2nd is 4200rpm.

These results don't suprise me at all now.

That is true but to me it seemed like he pulled harder in the 3rd gear run than 2nd. The powerband is pretty damn smooth on the LS3's so I wouldnt have thought that to be a big problem. I guess the weight is really holding the car that much. IDk its just that the L seemed slow too, it didnt seem like it was picking up that fast either.

The torque is good...but you want higher RPM from rolls to take advantage of horsepower.. (from experience..hell maybe I am wrong)...

stock LS3 M6 2010 SS dyno...

I don't know where you're getting that from.

1st ends at like 42, 2nd at 62, 3rd at around 103. 40 mph in 2nd gear is 4000, 50 mph in 2nd is 5000.

Want to know how I know? I have the same transmission and motor as the M6 Camaro.

My guess? Your GXP has 3.70 vs the Camaros 3.45 rear end.

I used all said information here..
http://f-body.org/gears/

I did fubar the numbers slightly (Used 3.42s instead of 3.45 forgot to update the default ratio)...
1st ends at 52mph and 2nd ends at 76mph.
40mph in 1st is 5000rpm
40mph in 2nd is 3500rpm
50mph in 2nd is 4300rpm
50mph in 3rd is 3000rpm
