That's one race and considering a tuned Z is running at least mid 11s at 125+ I think the vette driver in that vid was reading a magazine while shifting.

He was little slow on the shifts but the F10 M5 should have a pretty good advantage over an 11 GT500 from a roll.

Found the other Video from the Z06 drivers view

F10 by at least 4 cars from a roll and 6 cars from the dig.

Anything hanging with a modded Z06 will destroy a stock 2011 GT500.

Even with bad shifting I still think that Z06 would walk away from a 2011 GT500.

Depends on the mods, with my current set up it's a good run up to 100 then I start to see tail lights. It's takes a blower swap to get one of those once you hit triple digit speeds. I'm saying I don't see the M5 in the same category as a Z, especially a stock one. The Z and a terminator are the only cars I run into that make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, everything else, Meh. To add, the closest race I ever had with a pulley/tune was against a 10 GTR.

M5's are monster up top. I'm not a big fan of the revving out up top deal with the cars but it works for them pretty well. Running one of those from a 60 roll is gonna be a challenge, especially with the DCT they have.

I will just leave this here..
Stock F10 M5 with a passenger vs Exhaust and Tuned C6 Z06
[youtube_browser]FJ5bG81c6Sw[/youtube_browser]

lol gotta love M5board where every BMW rapes everything. Fastest F10 M5 I believe traps 122 with average being 119-120. Average time for a Z06 with those mods are 125+. If you go on mercedes forums like MBworld they have plenty to say about M5board posting up videos that don't seem to quite make sense. Especially with E60 M5's vs AMG's.

Probably because M5 board is running everything from a roll, which is where the V10s really excel. The M5s/M6s were weaker from a dig than the AMGs with their ridiculous torque, but from a roll that V10 has a chance to run high into the revs and it is nasty! The AMGs will take the V10 M-cars from a dig though. Haven't driven an F10 yet so I can't comment on what the new TTV8 is like compared with the AMGs.

They're ALL awesome IMO. Just don't buy one new! It costs you $25K just to turn the key the first time you roll off the lot! :xpl:

 F10 BMW M5's max rpms is 7200 and the '13 Nissan GTRs is 7000.

Oh I know, I'm referring to power delivery. Even the new F10 M5's aren't as torquey down low as a 2013 GT-R and that's primarily because they were built to be Autobahn machines with massive top end.

Switzer is actually looking at tuning those cars, I think it will be a new platform to look out for modded.

I beg to differ, Tuned F10 M5s are putting down 560-580rwhp. The car to watch out for is the M157 CLS63 tune only and it puts down 630rwhp, then after exhaust and DP that thing is closing in on 700rwhp and 132+ mph traps.

The F10 M5 doesn't have has much potential as the M157 because of the 4.4 and smaller turbines. Even BMW owners are admitting to the M157s superiority in the aftermarket only leaving them to attack it's size, suspension and styling.

everytime i watch that z06 vs m5 YouTube vid I feel sad. It's disgusting how slow the guy was shifting, you can see the Z06 pulling in each gear.

I love the m5 and would take one over a z06 any day but i hate it when the race isn't "fair"

Sounds like very few has raced a 2013 M5. Locally 2013 M5 stock ran 730 rwhp 2013 Shelby and it is obvious what happened. The guy was a good sport racing two cars trapping 130's on one night. He was trying to gauge how stock M5 would do as he was thinking about getting the $5K tune.
Against 2010 GTR, the M5 was about 1/4 car length behind 2010 from roll which surprised me. Drag strip number was "12.7@119" mph at Orlando spin world.

He has already traded in the 2013 M5 for 2013 M6. More racing soon once car is broken in.

stock vs stock those new M5 would give the 2013 GT500 a good race!

That makes sense. The F10 M5's are slightly slower than 09-11 GT-R's. They trap about the same but the M5 is a dog down low. That's why I say a newer F10 M5 would be a good race for a bone stock 2010-2012 GT500.

When has a F10 M5 trapped 130mph?

The guy with M5 raced (2) cars that trapped low 130's. I did not say it trapped 130 mph. He is hoping with Tune on his new M6 it should be close to 130 mph.

Ah Gotcha!

I think he'll trap 124-125 with a tune on the M6, those turbos aren't that large and BMW doesn't leave much power on the table as Mercedes does with the M157 motors.

We were basing M5, M6 traps about same as Benz and tune Benz is doing 130 mph. We didn't know the BMW has less potential on stock turbos. We should know in couple months, hopefully.

4.4 < 5.5l and it's turbines are larger than the M5/M6 units.
