On a side note there was a C6Z06 there and he trapped lower then 119 on the runs i saw
This is entirely consistent with my experiences as well. Both times I have taken my car to OSW it has run 2-4 mph faster than the Z06's there the same night.

as sad as it is i might just admit defeat and get DR's... spinning in 2nd and 3rd isn't with the $1000 for rims and tires... I wanted to try to hit 11.99 but it isn't worth the burnouts on stock tires or spinning for 500ft of the track... or i could try a track with better prep maybe

Another vote for a Sticky please.

Good info guys thanks for posting.

Anyone have a VBox and 60-130'd yet?

Thanks

7.69....

jk, honestly that kind of thing is a numbers game... the 13 can get about 134 out of 3rd, if you can stretch 135 i dont know, but 130 could very well be cutting it out before the hp peak (they gain essentially all the way to 7k)

however my track time is till horrible but i went from 90-"120" in about 4.1 seconds.... so 60-130 i doubt would be less then your 7.71 if thats what your going for... but i also granny shifted everytime

A local car was V-boxed from 60-130. I can get more data but it went 10.18 with a passenger and hit the limiter in 3rd, so two shifts.

thats just not a good speed for the shelby... 55-125 would cherry pick it better but whatever

I believe they also ran that after a few other pulls from ~40, so it was a bit heat soaked and with a passenger. I have a V-box, just need to get it into the car.

My best so far, all stock down to the filter element and tires:

Nice run. Congrats! I hope to see more results like this in the near future once people have had more time with the cars because up until now these mid/low 12's have been discouraging. I'm by no means a drag racer but my current 03 Cobra has run a best of 12.2 on street tires and about $800 worth of mods. I'm trading it out for the Shelby but I was honestly hoping to hit 11.9's on a bad day, not 11.9's if I get lucky. Hopefully it's just an issue of seat time.

From my "first passes" thread...this was August 24th.

Even though Orlando Speedworld is a notoriously crummy track, especially at this time of year due to weather, I decided to take out the car for a few passes today.
First pass, I literally drove the car out of the hole and didn't hit it until 2nd gear. The car was hooking in 2nd and I ran it out:

RT: .081
60': 2.221
330': 5.645
1/8: 8.242
MPH: 94.08
1000': 10.464
1/4: 12.310
MPH: 122.46

This was after about 20 minutes of cooldown, in off the street and tech.
After an extended cleanup, and about an hour and a half later, I had a chance to make another pass:

RT: .171
60': 2.147
330': 5.431
1/8: 7.985
MPH: 93.98
1000': 10.206
1/4: 12.045
MPH: 123.20

I bumped the limiter on the 2-3 (rookie mistake) because I was checking where the other Mustang on slicks/skinnies was in the other lane (it was behind me :rolling: ). I'm sure it would have gone ~11.9 and over 124 mph.

That's my weather station about 10-minutes after making the 12.0 pass. I checked DragTimes as well, and it shows a DA of 1460' a little later (10:53 PM), but I don't think that station is at the track and I'm not sure where it is located.

For another point of reference, there were two C6Z's there tonight. One was a red one with aftermarket wheels and DR's (and a "427" badge on the hood) and the other car was a stock black car that belongs to a friend of a friend. Both were running 119-120 mph...which seems to be about what they run at this track.

Another point of reference...my bone stock '12 Black Edition GT-R ran 11.4 at 119.5 at OSW (bone stock) in late-April in obviously better air. It's not stock now, so it's not really a good comparison.

I'll be back next Friday, weather permitting, to try again. It will get in the 11's, even at this crummy track.

first off... i hate you! hahahah

how did you launch?

good times for your first time out!

I have a different track about 90min away I might have to try it sometime

however this time i ran with the suspension in "normal" and it seemed to be a smoother launch but that could be me also, time didn't reflect that

David Buschur (Kevin Lawson-driver)--2.028-60 Ft--7.749-1/8 Mile--96.98-1/8 MPH--11.697-1/4 Mile--126.59-1/4 MPH--S

We took my new GT500 out to Summit Motorsports Park today during the Lingenfelter Nationals and made a bunch of passes. The car is absolutely 100% bone stock, it had 106 miles on the odometer when we got to the track. Also had about 5/8 of a tank of 93 left from the first fill up when I picked the car up from the dealer.

Trying to figure out how to get the car to launch was by far the toughest thing to do. We finally left the launch control on and left at 3200 rpm which put the car into the 11.'s. Then upped the LC to 3400 rpm for this best pass of the day. The car shifts like shit, it has since I picked it up. 2nd gear is a fight to get it into gear, if Kevin (my friend who was driving it) can't get it into gear nobody can, the guy can drive. I've got a Barton shifter on order, hope it helps but I think it's a clutch engagement issue honestly.

If he could shift the car like he shifts everything else he drives of mine I'm sure this car, bone stock with a good tire would run 11.0's-10.90's, that's putting into consideration a 1.60 sixty foot.

The clutch failsafe (or whatever they call it in the manual) was kicking in every single time we tried to leave with out the LC, the car leave nice and then fall on it's face. That would be a problem getting one of these into the 10's too as the clutch, even on the stock tires, would give up and the power would get chopped every time.

We finally gave up, ran a total of 15 passes. At the end the day not getting the car into 2nd no matter how slow it was shifted was enough to call it a day. Not sure what the solution will be for that. I may talk to the dealer...........it may end up with an auto trans in it if it really pisses me off!

Great car, impressive numbers for a bone stock car for sure. Mods to come.

dustin, I was looking at the other thread about your car and it seems you left out a lot of mods in this section for the 1/4 mile times. Is this what your car actually has on it?:

"Mods: JLT CAI, Innovators West 10% LP, 93 Octane tune, 110 octane tune, Monoblade TB, Mcleod RXT clutch, Barton Shifter, FR 3:73 gears, UPR Uppers, Lowers, Panhard Bar, BMR front Sway bar delete, Weld RT-S 15x10 rear, 17x5 front, Hoosiers, Optima Battery Relocation, Zex Blackout Kit 100 Shot.

It's fast and impressive for sure but your mod list here made it seem more impressive. How about exhaust? What's done to the exhaust?
