Bandimere Speedway just outside of Denver announced they are closing. If you have never been there it is one of the coolest tracks in America. I live right down the street from this place and sure going to miss it. Another great drag strip getting bulldozed. Super sad day for the car world.

That sucks. We're losing Wild Horse Pass here. Drag lake, drag strip, dirt stadium, and 4 road tracks. Sign of the times I guess

Absolutely sucks. I usually go a few times a year. I have been to quite a few tracks in my day and Bandimere is easily the coolest track by far imo.

This is a big loss for Colorado and surrounding states. Bandimere was my local track since we don't have any in Wyoming anymore. DOH!

Sadly yes

It’s not just that. The big push is coming from all new homeowners around the track bitching about the noise. It’s just laughable that people choose to buy houses next to a ****ing race track and cry about the noise.

The family that runs Bandimere are good people. I’m hoping they build a new track somewhere else.

Very sad. I'm glad my local track is making big improvements and investing a lot of money, hopefully they'll be around for a long time.

Always preferred Douglas to Bandimere way less crowded. Hopefully they rebuild Bandimere somewhere north and east of Denver.

I've been to Bandimere a few times. Got my eye balls vibrated near out of my skull and a few faces full of nitro, resulting in liquid coming out of every face hole.

I'll never forget that place. Shame it's costing down.

And near landfills, shit cracks me up
There's a landfill in Tully Town PA that people actually camp and fish at in the retaining ponds around the work faces. It's absolutely ****ing ridiculous. I thought I was seeing shit the first time I saw them.

I'll never forget going to Bandimere fresh out of high school with my Black 1988 Lincoln Mark VII LSC with a 5.0, BBK cold air intake, and Flowmasters. I beat that VW Jetta next to me with an 18.9 second 1/4 mile. Won by a bumper but man was I hooked on drag racing, even with a slow car!

Since the early days of 2003, Bandimere was often mentioned in a thread. More than a few SVTP members have raced there. Sad to hear it's closing. A lot of folks are going to really miss it.

This exact same thing basically killed Sacramento Raceway.

The residents even went as far as to get the county to ban the owner from selling anything but just the property to ensure it was eventually killed off.

Funny thing is when the street racing problem gets worse again they residents and specifically Rancho Cordova will blame everyone but themselves.

I specifically remember in the early 2000s that area had a street racing problem I was part of. Everyone bitched to take it to the track.
