Yea I never find any good deals on anything around here. I've never seen a new edge Cobra for 5k or less, maybe a roller that needs an engine and trans. You maybe could find a ragged out sn95 around that, most of those start around 7k. I have seen srt4s in that range, and for the money and fun factor I'd definitely have those at the top of the list.

Sometimes living in a snow area has an advantage. This time of year there are deals out there.

Just a quick search:

1998-2004 Dakota R/T, got my DD for 1200, threw a couple grand in new tires and suspension rebuild. Hauls shit, and ain't to slow. Junk yards are full of parts, parts from the Ram and Durango fit most of the time.

Svt contour or svt focus. Lots of fun for the buck! My contour ran mid 14s, handled awesome, and cost me 2500 bucks.

Lexus IS300, although in your price range, you're looking at a <100k mile example

BMW E36 M3, same as above but more expensive to maintain.

Neon or catfish. You CAN get a catfish for 5k in good shape. Local dude just sold his '00 car with 80k miles on it, bone stock, minty interior for exactly that. He started with 5500 obo. GL

Why? You had to know it wasn't going to do well in the snow. How much are you selling it for?

I have an 06 jeep wrangler now too. Snow isn't a problem.

I think if I dump some money into it... Id keep it. But forcing myself to do it.. Who knows.
