glad u made it to the hospital. my grandfather got bit on the foot (was in his boot) while he was on the road. he was a truck driver. waited a few days til he got home to see a doctor. almost lost his foot. the wound was pretty gross. and my grandmother had to put dressing inside the wound every day so it could heal from the inside out. it ate so much flesh you could nearly see the bone in his foot

Yep, that one is a definite yes.

Growing up in SETX I'm glad I never saw those. Just Black Widows, which were easy to take care of. Haha

Now Banana Spiders....**** those.

Dear Lord, best wishes for your mother.. I cannot believe she waited at all, especially after catching what was surely a BR :nonono:

Hope she is not one of the few that has a bad reaction :(

Geez, you don't hear about these bites often, that's crazy it happened to a members mother. I am happy to hear she is doing ok. Monitor the shit out of that bite!

Best of luck!!! Your mom is pretty tough to say the least.

F*** spiders, glad she is alright. I had my close call with a black widow a few years ago.

I found one in my suit case after the airline left it at my front door. (That was in KY)

AZ has a TON of black widows. Caught 7 of them in my yard last summer, and 4 poisonous Scorpions.

I recommend sticky traps used for mice any house. They do WONDERS in trapping critters you don't see while you sleep. I put them in the corner of closets and in various locations where they can't be seen.

Sticky Trap Victims in last 6 months:

1. 3 Mice

2. 6 spiders (various) Including a BR)

3. 4 Scorpions

4. 1 dog (Curious Doberman)

5. 3 Centipedes. (Those things get HUGE in AZ.) Think they eat cats here.

Caught this bugger in my garage yesterday.

Godzilla Centipede... was gnawing on cat when I found him.

One of the sticky trap captured Scorpions. He wasn't happy.

Found crawling across my back yard.

And the Famous Black Widows.... Found a crap load of these.

And this MONSTER.

And the Whip Tailed Scorpion. Look mean, but harmless. (Found in my garage.)

Come to Arizona.... you'll have a blast with all the critters here. EVerything is TOUGHER. Even the Grass fights back.

Did the two females in that cup have a little fight?

Nah. They were to busy trying to get out. I found them in different locations around the yard.

I'm in the Sierra Vista, aZ area. Nice here since it doesn't get very hot and it doesnt get cold either since its up in the mountains.

The goat heads make the grass fight back. Those things are NASTY. They are razor sharp and hard as wood. The can go through shoes even. Nothing worse than the dogs dragging one in and you finding one bare footed on the carpet. :cuss:

Goat head before they harden.

After they harden they look like this, but smaller. This is a larger one I found in the area.

I've had the house sprayed several times including several sprayings by myself.
