Both really fast cars. I am still surprised at the overheating issues with the Z06.

And cooking your feet in traffic? That's interesting.

Expected. $150k track prepped version of the GT-R with stickier tires.

I don't know why they wouldn't pit a base GT-R, the Z06 is way cheaper than even that.

It's the top Z06 which is track prepped vs the best GT-R. This is the outcome. Sorry it didn't work out in your favor.

Heatsoak and timing pull killing that Z06. Randy even said "but it also didn't feel like it had 650 horsepower"

Z was great on the figure 8 because it wasn't enough time to suffer from heatstroke.

They are both track prepped versions of their respected brands..quit crying . If u want a base gt-r then put it against a base C7

So let me ask how many of you believe Z06 without GM hero lap fairy dust will run a 2:41 at VIR?

Im not at all surprised by the overheating. To be honest I wouldn't even say the c7 z06 has an overheating issue, its more of a ultra conservative tuning issue thanks to GM. Basically once the c7 z06 sense you want to have fun it goes full Debbie Downer and kills that.

Not looking good for the Z. I'd still rock one though, heat soak or not.

GT-R is an older design, heavier, the brakes aren't as good, (although i think 97 vs 91 feet can hardly be called as ' not good ') and it has way less power than the z06,

It has been doing things it shouldn't be able to do since the day it came out. Damn good job Nissan!! Being heavier and less power it beats the Zee0six in every aspect of performance.

With that said even with how bad the Z performs it still looks even worse than it performs. At least the GT-R has performance on it's side lol

GT-R outran it everywhere. I did stand up for the Z but it really seems to be a disappointment outside of GM's usual clever marketing in stock form.

Hero lap was done by their engineer/race driver too. I wouldnt be surprised if they dialed that car in JUST for that track.

Also, nobody has mentioned the tire advantage the C7Z has. So yes, lighter weight, more power, better tires = slower laptime!!

Edit: for reference (red/bold = advantage)

not sure where your getting that the GTR is outdated..... It is a 2015 Nismo.... So what if the original design is a few years + old, they have made changes. And if it continues to kick all the competitions but.... why the hell change it!
