It can be done.

That's with bolt-ons, ported intake, LTs, and 01 intake cams.

Is that possible with a Mach I? What will it take to get there?

Plenty of people are getting that with bolton's. Angus is one that comes to mind. Cai intake, intake spacer, full exhaust, electric water pump, and alum driveshaft should get you there.

4V heads can much better utilize additional cubes than 2V heads can.

Some of these ways people are saying to get to 330 and 400 are just outrageous. Most of the things people are saying are around 305-325 mark. I made some pretty good numbers though without much done, but my tuner is one of the best.
HP Mods I have: 4.10 Ford Motor Sport Gears (guess gears don't really count), Aluminum driveshaft, MAC O/R H, Flowmaster cat back, K&N Filter, Roy 3/8" Intake Spacer, VMP Tune
