If she had a big problem why could she not just ask me to not let the cat out.

This thread was made because someone made threats to poison animals

I would take her threat to poison your cat as maybe a bitchy way of saying.. "i have a problem with you letting your cat out and it being on my property"

Maybe im way off?

1. "Responsible pet ownership is even more important."

2. Contacting the stupid owner of the stupid cat is only recommended.

3. "There are several home remedies available to discourage roaming cats."

Yes, there are:

X26 Taser

Antifreeze

.177 caliber pellet rifle

.22 LR pistol or rifle

etc.

All of your suggestions are not legal forms of dealing with a cat. If you shoot a cat with a tazer or a pellet gun your gonna land yourself in jail. Get some common sense, how old are you 12?

No, that's enough to get you sued.
Making a formal complaint to animal control would not get me sued. Quit talking out of your ass, your starting to embarrass yourself.

This is exactly why my cats are indoor. Cannot imagine suspecting a neighbor of killing my cat. :fm: People are ****ed, hardcore soul ****ed. Too bad you cannot get God to take their soul and hand it over to the devil.

This link is from the city website and deals with this topic. I can let the cat outside legally, and she should have tried to contact me if there was a problem. Also they state that crualty to animals is a serious offense.

Sorry for your loss, but...

I have a neighbor who lets her cat roam free. I've told them politely, and impolitely (patients running thin) to keep it inside. They refuse. So we've taught my dog to hate cats (using cat stuffed animals), and hate the word "cat." Now, if we see the cat in the yard, we say, "CAT!" Open the door, and out the dog goes running for the cat.

I do not appreciate finding cat shit around the property, as well as dead birds. I do not let my dog out without me around, and if we go off our property, he is on a leash at all times. I also do not EVER let him do his business on other people's property. It's called common courtesy.

Those neighbors had two cats, but one bit the farm a while back. I found it in the middle of the road one day. I felt bad, because the SPCA trusted these people to take care of these animals, and look how they do it. Opening a door isn't being responsible.

I'm really sorry for your loss. As a former responsible cat owner, I know how tough it is to lose a friend. That aside, I don't think you're going to win, if that's your intent, any arguement about free-roaming cats. Your allegations against your neighbor sound unfounded so far and it's really doubtful you could ever prove anything. By hanging onto this grief and hatred, you're not going to help any matter. Remember your friend, learn from it's passing and make sure your future pets are properly protected and taken care of. Be well and breathe deep.

Looks like she did as the law says, and it worked.

lol....

"CAT DETERRENTS
If speaking with the pet’s owner fails, there are
several home remedies residents can try that may
keep cats away from your property.
Place orange or grapefruit peels in your
yard or flower bed, or hang them where
the cat is spraying.
Spray concentrated orange juice in areas
where cats are spraying. Cats are put off
by the citrus scent. The downside to these
measures is that the citrus scent may
attract ants.
If a cat is jumping your wall, place
plastic gallon jugs, half-filled with water
around the area. Cats will see their
shadow in these, and may think it’s
another animal.
Spray cats with a squirt gun or water
hose. If a cat is sprayed with water by
the same person twice, it will not usually
come around again.
The Humane Society encourages
trap/neuter/release solutions for managing
homeless cats in your area. Residents are
encouraged to contact AzCATs at
480- 968-4TNR or e-mail
[email protected].
The City of Chandler does not endorse the
use of cat traps, nor does the City
provide traps to residents or pick up
trapped cats.
Additional animal repellents may
be available at area pet stores."

See? That's why I prefer the X26 Taser. Autopsy = Poor cat got electrocuted on a high tension powerline. Irresponsible owner let it roam without supervision.

No, wrongly accusing your neighbor in public (like on this board) of poisoning your cat will get you sued. Besides, it's not your cat!

you broke the law and why should we care? Dog door that isn't leading into a fenced in yard? Do you leash any of your animals?

My German Short-haired pointer EATS cats.. its great

Cats always seem to want to climb on top of my car.. Even if I'm in it..
Therefore, if your cat is roaming around in my yard, I will do whatever it takes to make him not come back

So your "precious" cat had to suffer for 6 days before you attempted to get treatment? There's a little thing called responsibility that comes along with pet ownership.
