Would it not be a better option to just simply upgrade the pump itself? I am also confused on the "dual" bap I read on these cars. I only have one tank and one pump? Anyone upgrade theirs if so what did you go with.?

Having just changed both pumps on my 87 Silverado with saddle tanks I think the best option is upgrade the pump? If not shed some light please on BAP's.

    Thanks

You have 1 tank with dual pumps.

Not sure if anyone makes a great returnless drop in pump that fits our hats.

There’s really no good pump upgrade. I’m running a Fore return system. Nice kits, a little pricey, but the install isn’t too bad.

I ran the Deatschwerks DW300m in my 08. no boost a pump. Works perfect, direct fit.

Did you have to make tune adjustments with the DW300?

I like this option. If the DW300 is at least an adequate replacement option over the BAP it is cheaper and a cleaner option IMO. Does anyone know if it is at least adequate replacement?

This is the option I'd seriously consider. In the end, Brandon, you'll be happier IMO.

I forgot the 300s were an option for 07-10s. They're adequate up to a point on pump gas, not sure if I'd trust them on E85....I vaguely recall seeing a couple threads where they failed. What kind of power are you expecting to make?

You likely wouldnt need a BAP anyway for a gen 1 tvs at around 650 RWHP, with that being said the BAP would essentially just be insurance in your case so I dont see anything wrong with that idea, however if you insist on no BAP there really isnt a great upgraded pump option and return style makes more sense IMO

I thought the same thing. However, Lund is saying his tune requires fuel upgrades.

For such a simple upgrade go with the plug and play vmp boost a pumps. The factory pumps are actually pretty good.

I wish someone did make a pump solution for the later models.

I'm at 629 RWHP and the VMP dual BAP puts my FPDC in a good place with plenty of cushion.

Unfortunately we never really got a true drop in replacement for returnless pumps. There were are return style pumps fitting in the stock housing.

The 13/14 gt500 had a nice stock dual pump setup again unfortunately it wasnt backwards compatible for the gt500s

There is nothing wrong with running a BAP.(if properly installed) The newer GT500s used the same strategy from the factory to boost fuel delivery.
