How do other manufacturers calculate 0-60? I know they use the tires the car comes with but are they on a prepped track or street somewhere?

Didn't someone put skinnies and drag radials on a stock Eco-Boost Mustang and lift the front tires? I dunno if it was a magazine or a shop car.
I'll take this a step further and say 85% of these probably will never even see any pavement beneath their tires, as all of them are going to be in climate controlled garages with only 5 to 35 miles on them.
But yes got to love spending stupid money on a banned car at all dragstrips/ tracks. Now to see if Fiat, Chrysler abysmal reliability raises it's head on these or not and see just how many recalls and fixes it'll need in the next 5 years.
Not so sure about the last part where they say it won't have much of a price difference from the HC's $65k. Figure this will be in the $80k+ range before ADM.
Someone on the Hellcat forum found the track and day it ran those times. DA was -1225 or soThe question now is how many runs did Dodge make to get that 1/4 mile time. It seems it was done in the fall at a track in FL last year.
Was this an easy run or an "hero" run?
After the reveal Tim K was asked about pricing and he said well under $100KI had read on HotRod when they did their reveal it was $85K. Now I can't find that anywhere.

Red Key on pump gas is 808HP/717TQ and it will run 9.90@130. The crate, PCM and race gas gets you 840hp for $1. Thats how they run 2.3s 0 to 60 and 9.65@140mph.
With the entire drivetrain beefed up, a smaller pulley and nitrous should put this thing well over 1,000rwhp and easily in the 8s
Hopefully they make some of these Demon options orderable. 2 step, transbrake, intake chiller, etc
while its not marketed towards me nor would i have any desire to buy one as a car guy i think its cool as shit and much respect to dodge for doing it. id be more than happy with a hellcat challenger to drive around town!
To bad Dodge didn't put an ecoboost v6 in it.
That motor is reserved for supercars and the next gen GT500.
