Yes, i was 5 or 6 then so i really dont remember too much about that then.

I just assumed when you stop a free market, it becomes manipulation.

I never discussed in my post about manipulation. Some may use the word rigged I like to think of it more as controlled. The market is definitely controlled to an extent. Many people think the market is fixed and I don't like to think about it like that since I have been in it for such a long time.

Thats what im figuring. If it gets down to the ~17k range ill probably buy back in.

I sold all my RSU's and liquidated all my holdings last Tuesday I think when there was that little bounce back, sitting on a pile of cash waiting for the right time to buy back in.

Only reason it wont is if EVERYTHING collapses, in which case, that will be the least of your concern. Id be more worried about your self defense and hunting skills, and being on top of that game.

I hope you mean like physical assets of those companies, like tons of firearms or camping supplies.... Stock in general, all of it, is going down, rapidly. Steer clear of all common stock till this shit blows over.

The people who are making money now are the rich who have the connections to get involved in other financial vehicles, like put/call options. There is major shorting going on in the market right now.

You're lucky. I have been at my job just under a year and my RSU's haven't vested yet. The stock is down just over $100/share, and I've got about 600 shares. Yikes...

But, from the files of "It's better to be lucky than good," I converted my 401k from high flying mutual funds to a stable value fund last Aug. I thought I was protecting my investment from political turmoil leading up to the election, but instead it "vaccinated" me against the virus implications! I did buy some OXY the other day, and a little more yesterday. I'll be a buyer when the Dow gets closer to 15k.

Can you PM me some things you’re thinking of buying? We’re in the market but not as knowledgeable as the average stocks person. I’ve been doing some research and picked up 4 companies and looking to get more by Monday, pending how the stock looks when it opens.
