I did it and my car still runs fine, and at least 2 (that I know of) Cobras around here run it. The others I just don't know about.

I routs the boosted air back to the inlet side of the supercharger during cruise so you don't overheat the IC system. There were some other reason why I don't recall exactly but it was found there was no benefit to doing this mod. Go to the Archive section and read up on it. Most left the system intact.

There is no power to be gained by doing this mod. It's been beaten to death and a simple search would reveal all the answers you guys need on the topic. Bottom line is, a simple tune takes care of all the boost bypass control you need.
If you're going to do the boost bypass mod, do it in your tune. I would not recommend you physically disable it. Here's why.

The boost bypass can be turned off in tune, like Bob said.
