Local Coyote get together and some accident pictures :(

Well there was a big car cruise supposed to be going on today at Cabelas in West virginia but they postponed it due to chance of rain. So a few of us met up locally and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings. Needless to say it was a good time until we went back to an abandoned industrial park to get some sick pictures but i had an accident. I have been there quite a few times taking pictures and there is a sewer grate you can drive over where we take the pictures. Apparently someone removed the grate making it just a giant sewer ditch and i fell into it, In my defense it was dark and i just figured it was still there. Boy was i wrong! Anyway here are some pictures!

Luckily there is literally no damage to my front bumper and just a little damage to the wheel. Good news on that is i was already planning on replacing that wheel because it had a weird wobble that i could never figure out and had a few scuff marks on it.

I'm assuming that the opening in the drive path wasn't easy to see. I see parking stripes. If this is open to the public for parking, with no barriers to prevent what happened, the land owner is responsible for all repair costs.

That's good to know..... I would have assumed it would be at least marked in some way.

You say that parking lot was/is abandoned, but I'd try and find out who is paying taxes on that property because something like that should be barricaded off.......unless there are/were signs up and ya'll were trespassing......?

Either way, glad to see the majority of the damage was cosmetic.

To be honest i didn't see any signs but i would have to say we probably shouldn't of been back there. I'll take the responsibility for this for me not paying attention to what was in front of me. The metal grate was on it the last time we were in there so i just assumed it was this time. My fault

Ouch.....how fast were you going? That wheel getting wedged in there like that could cause some serious damage if you had any speed at all. Like bent suspension components/suspension mounts/frame damage.

I was only going about 5-10mphs as i was turning. It was dark and and i didnt notice the grate missing so as soon as i turned my wheel i fell in it. I'm going to get it on a lift this weekend but it drove home fine. Might need an alignment because of how we got it back out but i think thats about the extent of the damage. The wheel looks fine since i had some touchup paint laying around!

Did the bumper realign with your fender once you got it out??? I bet it didn't sound too pretty when you fell in there huh?? I'd be pissed....at myself if that happened to my car! Gla everything is okay tho.

Haha ya it made a nice scraping sound with a thud when it landed. The part of the bumper that came out just literally clips right back in. So the bumper is aligned perfectly. This bumper has taking a beating. A big rig hit a deer in front of me and i ran it over and there was literally no dmg to it before and now this. Built Ford tough
