wow, talk about an old thread. :p

my best MPG was when the car was bone stock and on a drive through oklahoma, on my way to hallett motor speedway. on 94 octane fuel, i was getting ~29MPG on the highway.

my best back home, stock was ~26MPG, modded is ~24MPG. with our crappy 91 octane summer blends.

I switched jobs and now do mainly highway driving. I got tired of visiting the gas stations and decided to do a little study. With about 75% highway driving, over the last 8 tanks, I am averaging 17.0 mpg. Not good. That is primarily why I have decided to put her up for sale. I think I am gonna save a minimum of $750/year on gas with my new car.

I hate to see her go, but I gotta do it. I have a 2004 BMW 330Ci on order. Should be pretty nice though: 6 speed, 18" wheels, xenon lights, moonroof and Harmon Kardon 10 speaker sound system.

Youre deciding to call it quits and sell your Cobra that you enjoy because you want to save 14 dollars a week??? And really youre not even saving that much considering the car youre interested in gets 19/27. If 14 dollars a week is setting you back that much financially, you shouldnt even think twice about owning a vehicle of that caliber. Consider walking. :poke:

I get about 22 MPG running between Columbus and Chillicothe on State Route 104 (if you know where that is).

edit: LOL. Didn't realize this thread was so old.

Oh well, better than posting ANOTHER MPG thread.

20-22 mpg here, although I've seen less than 20 when I've been happy with the pedal.

I get 27 - 28 on the highway with cruise on and no AC. Only mod on the Cobra is 18' wheels. Otherwise I'm bone stock.

Just the past wednesday on my way back from an open track outing I put 200 miles on the car heading back and used slightly more than 1/4 tank to do so.

This tank will probably be right at 30mpg...well maybe less ebcause the car will be driven around town on the rest of the tank.
