More progress in the last few days. Got my harmonic balancer installed again. Injectors installed, upper intake on and torqued down, wires for TPS, IAC, IAT2 and alternator extended.

New goodies (80lb deka injectors, Slot style maf pigtail, and o2 extensions)

Wires extended:

Got the headers, o2's and o2 extensions installed as well. Was able to use all of the stock studs on the passengers side and all but one of the stock studs on the drivers side. Was pretty stoked about that since I trust them a lot more than the on3 hardware.

Also forgot to mention i chose to use new OEM ford gaskets. Hopefully they work out pretty well

Getting the dipstick in between the primaries on the headers and getting everything bolted up SUCKED. I assume its the same for any header install on these cars, but this was my first time on a modular motor so tools and profanities were flying around the garage

You can see the oil filter relocation and 2V oil filter plate in this pic

Wiring up the return kit. Access to the FPDM:

Old pigtail vs. 05+ Slot Style

All ready to be soldered. The two grey wires I am holding are for the IAT1 I assume. Still need to talk to my tuner to see if he wants me to wire those up or just leave the stock IAT1 wires as is.

All soldered up. Excuse the dusty/dirty fenderwells

Thats about it for now. I am in the middle of rerouting the coolant lines from the thermostat and then hopefully tomorrow can finish up the hotside. Also still need to install my bumpsteer kit.

Getting there...

Had to do some errrrr "trimming" to get that big old 76mm to fit. We shall see what kind of NVH effect if any this has. Looks like im going to need a turbo blanket as well

The main event!

4" Intercooler installed. What a pain. Actually had to loosen the crash bar a bit to get it to fit

I am wrapping my drain line in Nashua air duct tape since the drain line is very close to the merge pipe. The merge pipe is wrapped in DEI exhaust wrap which a lot of people say is cool to the touch when the engine is hot, but i guess you can never be too careful. Supposed to me good to 325 degrees.

Bought a new napa belt for a 99 cobra and also got my 99 idler installed

Can't wait to see what she is going to make. I'm also switching from the hellion hotside to a custom forward facing hotside. Should be in the mail tomorrow.

Almost done. Build has taken longer than I thought because I have been on summer vacation but oh well.

Wastegate and BOV Porn

Wastegate and BOV installed and Vac lines plumbed. Still working on setting up my eboost2.

Loading up a startup tune!
null_zpsf22b5cba.jpg

And she fired right up! Only leak was an oil leak from the valve covers which I forgot to tighten down:bash:

Problem is, I disconnected the battery to get better access to the top timing cover and valve cover bolt, tightened them down, and when I reconnected the battery and tried to fire her up again, she roars right to life but wont idle and is running like shit. Im baffled. I have tried loading the startup tune again and still the same issue. Going to call my tuner tomorrow and see what he says.

Check your vacuum lines

That was my first thought too. Seems like a huge vacuum leak as it just won't idle. But I have double and triple checked almost all vacuum connections. Also I didn't change anything near vacuum lines. All I did was remove the battery and tighten down the valve covers

not sure from the pics but do you have open breathers on both valve covers? I woiuld run them in both... high boost may cause oil drain back issues which may make your turbo leak oil under decell after coming out of boost.

I have a breather on the passengers side and a PCV valve hooked into vacuum on the drivers side. Eventually I will have a catch can setup but that is it for now.

Sorry about the glitch with the tuner, glad things are coming together!

No worries man thanks for being a standup seller:beer:

Thanks man good luck.

Anyways, she runs again. Turns out when i pulled the charge pipe to the intake one of the MAF wires pulled out and my MAF wasn't getting any signal. Plugged it back in and she fire up and idled. Pete was also able to fine tweak the tune so I am good to drive it until I can get down for a full tuning session.

th_VideoJul3053942PM_zpsdaf419b6.jpg

Now I just need to hook up the rest of the exhaust, fix a small oil leak at the drivers side valve cover, couple other little things, and I should be good to start driving it.
