Get a couple more quotes from realistic shops. Sounds like they will all be over $500. Let your insurance company take it from there

Or

File a police report, take him to small claims court

Or

Pay him a visit with or without police escort

File a police report as hit and run. That will get the ball rolling without any financial cost to you.
yes commit perjury, file a false police report, and win ... while you are in jail. what a dumbass of an idea.

horseshit. this was NOT a hit and run. the op has the guys info so just how do you justify a hit and run? I bet your circumstances are not the same. filing a false police is against the law. if you can prove otherwise I would LOVE to see it.

Call your local PD and/or go file a claim aganst him in small claims court.

^^^
This.

Call the local cops and report him and give your insurance company all the info you have, your insurance company has an obligation to you and themselves to pursue this for you.

Personally I think going to his residence is a really bad idea.

Haha, thanks for the call out.

But yeah that's a good idea.

I didn't mean it in a rude or offensive way. The kid is 19 years old. More than likely he lives with his parents, go to their house, tell them what happened, get your money, go back to reading the Hellcat threads.

Showing up at that dudes house without a police escort is a bad idea.
You could go from this:

Not sure how much the cops will help if you come a month later after the accident, without them filing a report in the first place at the scene of the accident(?).

I doubt it would be anything crazy. I would've went the next day, but I guess I'm a dumb, invincible, kid.

Don't let him troll you lol It's too early for that.

Point was I had the exact same situation, I went to the police and asked what to do, they said file a hit and run. After that, my iinsuraance company took over and I had no out of pocket expense. Got a new bumper cover, it was under my dedectible of 500.. Not sure what came of it with the other guy, but my insurance company said the other insurance company ended up paying.

So, the cops will tell him what to do.

Didn't mean to be a dick about it, sorry if you took it the wrong way.

I doubt it also, but you never know and imo it's not worth the risk when there are other options. You go to his environment, knock on his front door... he steps out, tazes you and drags you inside. No matter what condition they find you in, if they ever do, it's too late. If you have to take care of it yourself, go to his place and wait for him to leave. Follow him somewhere else and confront him in public.

Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected. - Sun Tzu

There is no more prepared place than a mans home. That's all I'm trying to say.
