I’m surprised we haven’t run into someone make model (plastic) parts. Could be a lucrative business for someone.

Very true Bob. If I were to make this a full time gig I might explore 3D printing. But, based on my cost and the limited amount of cars I build I don't think it would be cost effective. Would be very cool to make my own parts though.

Okay, got a little more work done sitting in front of the TV last night.

I got the 10th Anniversary seats cleaned up and the door panels painted. I painted the rear bumper letters a "simulated" black chrome this past weekend, but added the plate last night. I still have a lot of work to do on this 10th, but it is progressing nicely.

Here is a SM Vert an owner sent me and asked me to modify it.

I cleaned up the car, cleaned the interior and straightened the front seats. For some reason the seats in the verts are normally pushed back.
I polished the car and the windshield.
I added CCW Classic replicas.
I painted the rear bumper letters "simulated" stainless steel.
I lowered it and added a personal plate.

Hello All,

Some of you may remember I built cars as gifts for Dave Kindig (Bitchin Rides) and Joe Martin (Iron Resurrection). Well, I was watching the new season (season 4) of Iron Resurrection the other night.

They showed a scene in the office and they still have the car I built for them sitting on the shelf. Pretty cool...…….

Okay everyone. Yes, it was a 3 day weekend, but I had to use the majority of my time to install my compressed air system in my garage (getting ready for project 65 this summer).

However, I did make some progress on the 3 cars I'm currently building.

This is the first time I've had multiple car needing the interior modified. Pretty cool...….

It's MC, 10th Anniversary and Parchment.

Also, it just so happens all three cars need an "SVT" stencil on the H/E.

The 10th Anniversary is getting non-Chrome factory style Cobra wheels per the owner.

The OW is getting a black supercharger and blue cam covers.

Did some polishing on the OW last night.

AFTER (You can see a clear reflection of the light. Distortion is gone and it looks like glass)

Installed the rear wing while I was at it. Also got the bumper letters painted gloss black over this past weekend.

You are officially a diecast model ARTIST! No lie. The attention to detail on your "frame off restorations" is astounding. You're way beyond those who tinker with minor diecast changes, including run of the mill repaints. I'm beyond impressed.

Have you ever done any restorations/repaints of Danbury Mint or Franklin Mint 1:24 diecast models? I ask because it was common back in the day for collectors to buy models reminiscent of cars they owned or once owned. Except maybe the paint color was different. I was one of those folks. I no longer have my 1:24 collection, but if I did still own it I'd probably consider having some of the cars custom painted or modded.

Good Stuff. Love all my diecast cars you’ve made for me!!

Thank you Chris! Really appreciate you still checking in on my thread and providing feedback.

Thank you Bob! You're too kind my friend. I remember when I first started this thread someone told me to be sure I "mask" everything very well. Then I posted pictures of the car completely torn down to bare metal and he was like "Oh, that's another level!" LOL.

It's a lot of work building these cars, but they have to be torn all the way down in order to do it right (for a repaint anyway). Besides, I enjoy it. It is a stress relief for me overall. Except when something bad happens (i.e. axles break during wheel exchanges, paint defects, customers not completely satisfied (although that has rarely happened)).

People have asked me to repaint their GMP fox body Mustangs. However, cars like GMP, Autoart and especially Danbury Mint have a lot of intricate details. Because of that I worry something will break during disassembly. So, for that reason, I stay away from those cars. Besides, since they have that intricate detail those cars are expensive and I don't want to risk it. The Maisto cars come apart very easily. So, that's why I choose to build them. Besides Maisto is the one building the 03 Cobra, SVT Lightning and the Ford GT. So, that makes it nice :D.

And thank you to all who monitor my thread, provide feedback and support me in this hobby. You all are greatly appreciated!!!!!
