Turns out having your maf fail at 5k causes some issues. Dont know all the details yet but #5 is down from 140psi to 80psi. Looks like its time for a shortblock or boss internals!

how do you know it was the MAF?

I'd get with L&M he has a few blocks left in case your's is no good. The 11-12 blocks are discontinued.

Can you give us more details on your build and why you think it was the MAF failure that caused this?

how do you know it was the MAF?

Was out driving the car and goosed the throttle up to about 5k. Right around 4500 the car fell on its face and started blubbering. Took the car in for some datalogging and found a few issues. The maf voltage was at 0volts at any rpm during datalogging and boost pressure was all over the place because of a leaky bypass valve. We replaced the sensor and the valve and did a compression test on all the cylinders. Every cylinder showed 140-145psi except #5 which showed 80psi.

The car runs decent when cold now but once it warms up you can tell its down a cylinder.

Im trying to decide if I wanna go the boss internals route or a full shortblock.

I thought there was a table that gave settings for what to use if there is no maf signal, "load with failed maf" or something like that. Would have hoped that saved things before damage occurred but maybe it didn't kick in quick enough :/

Sorry to hear about that OP

So if they discontinued these blocks... what's supposed to be replacing them?

How many miles has the blower been on the car, and how many miles on the car

the car has 23k on it now and the blower has been on for about 14k total miles.

can you take a video of what it sounds like now?

I will see what I can get once I get off work.

We borescoped the piston and you can see oil pooling in all the valve reliefs. I'm guessing there is a crack in the piston but I cant really tell with all the oil in the way.

The new block with the new pistons/rings I think... I'd like someone else to chime in that knows for certain though.

EDIT: Thanks for answering my question above.

OP - I see how you got to the MAF, thx.

Seriously? How can they be discontinued already?
Because the 2013 MY has a different block
So if they discontinued these blocks... what's supposed to be replacing them?

nothing AFAIK, there were some out and available, but they were sold to an unknown buyer from what I heard.

It's Not yet known if the 2013 block will work in a 11-12 for certain.
