Nice! What changed that you added 12mph? I was on a quest for 10.99 end of season. Ended up going 11.008 @ 126 with 1.59 60'. Little different car and setup than yours though. 04 auto Mach with stock motor, trans, and rearend. 12psi Vortech V1 S and 3600 stall converter. 3660lb race weight. 508rwhp/436rwtq. Shooting for 10.60 this summer with 2* more timing and swapping front wheels for skinnies.
Well after I sent a rod through the block last year, I ended up building a new short block. I hadn't built an engine in 30 years and had never built a Ford engine but I pulled it and built and put it back in solo in my home garage. The car was running 10.40's at 136 mph before the engine went. I upped the boost with a 75mm pulley. I am on the same heads, Roush 2.3 TVS and cams as the old motor.
I had billet oil pump gears and crank sprocket in the old engine. The car launched, hooked then the tires broke loose at about the 60' and slammed the rev limiter, thats what broke the rod.
Your 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are slow. Drive it like you stole it. Smash the clutch and rip those gears. I always put pressure on the stick even before I smash the clutch so it comes out and into the next gear even faster. 1-2 is easy, the mistakes happen at the 2-3 lol
nice. my best in my old '04 cobra was 10.00 @ 140 with a 1.5 60' on SVE drag pack. stock engine/trans/rear, 2.9 crusher, e85. 820rwhp. i need more seat time...9 second car, 12 second driver. haha
I started this thread 3 years ago, I don't get on here much anymore but I still have the same car, still running at the same track. I am now on a quest for the 9's.
Very nice. That 60' has a good bit of room left for your power level. That's the only change needed for that 9 second slip. 10.13 is moving though!! You have come a long way.
Your a decent 60ft time away from 9s. When my GT was making 700whp I was able to cut 1.38-1.42 60ft times and the car ran 9.8s at 142-143mph.
I was using a 28x10.5 stiff sidewall slick aired down to 12psi cold. They would heat up to 14.
-14.5psi after the burnout. I'd do a slight clutch at 6000-6200rpm.
3650lb race weight with full BMR solid bushing suspension. Viking struts and shocks, coilovers on front with rear bmr drag springs.
