I love how all these threads turn into the same thing. You could play musical chairs with the titles and nobody would even know.

That figures they had the GT and GT500 mixed up. Keep looking, you'll get one under market value (probably not near MSRP though).

With these still selling for over $55k on Ebay, I don't see the market changing any yet.

There are some that bids are over 55K, but buy now prices under 55k.

Doesn't make sense to me. Oh wait, they might have a friend bidding to jack up the price.

There isn't one on there right now with a buy it now for less than $59k, here are ones that have sold. And I didn't pick and choose, this is every one that's sold on the first page of listings when I typed in "GT500" and went to completed listings:

However, this one sold at $52k, but it was used:

I just looked at the other two pages of completed GT500's and there are about 10 more that have sold, and only one of them was $56k, the rest were over $60k.

Anyway, I'm not defending the markups, I'm simply stating that they're here, and I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon (judging by the market).

When I looked this morning there was two of them at 56K, and the bidding was at 54K. Don't know where they went, must have sold.

Is there a way to see things that have sold in the past 24 hours?

Not so true.

I said I can BUY anything at Dplan I want. Well 2 cars per year.

And yes, i can sell cars at D-plan, and you get re-embursed by the manufacturer, the hold back + the difference.
are you sure???
i dont see any d-plan commission on the ford gt, shelby gt500, or shelby gt. check your facts

Sorry it did not work out. Keep your eyes open, there are some good deals out there. My search took much longer then I wanted, but had the benefit of allowing me to save more money. Good luck

You MSRP people crack me up. Face it..the car is underpriced, underproduced, and demand is high. You guys wait..I'll drive mine.
I got news for u..the 08 won't be any cheaper. copy this thread, and re read it on March 26 2008...I don't think I will be off in my statments.

You people that pay over msrp for a mustang crack me up. And to say that' it's underpriced when Im sure you payed over 50k for yours is funny to me.
And as long as people keep paying the markup , you are correct , the price wont go down. Just seems like kiddie syndrome when some people have to have something right then and there , need the instant gratification , and will pay whatever it takes. It's a great car , but they're making plenty of them in their run , it's not rare , and it's not going to be a collector car when everyone who gets one is thinking the same thing .....that in 20 years it's gonna bring in over 100k. My 2 cents :)

 Wait a minute here, this the same Chuckstang?? Mr . MSRP ??? Finally accepting it...........this is not your 03/04, like it or not, the Shelby name carries weight. Jump in and enjoy the ride. To rub it in though, I got mine at $500 over :-D

The Shelby name carries weight for people that are easily suckered into paying 10k and 20k over msrp thinking it will be able to sell like the originals in years down the road.

For $500 over , that's one of the best deals I've seen someome get one for though. Nicely done.

In Canada, a coupe lists at 52K, add tax and in most provinces you're looking at 56K + . I've seen a lot sell here for 84 K + , with some listed at 100+ K in the Alberta trader.

I realize the US dollar is valued higher than the Canadian buck, but most of us work 8-10 hour days up here to for our salaries that I would think are on par with our neighbors' salaries down south.

Most if not all the 07' and 08' allocations are sold out in Canada as far as I'm aware.

Just try to make those paying "mark up" down south feel a little bit better about their choice.

The Shelby name is a marketing gimmick for this car. It is no different than Mach 1 or Bullitt or CS. They are badges they put on the car to help sell them (and it happens to be working very well). Aside from his approval and suggestion of wider rear tires, he really did not do anything in developing this car.

If the collector wannabes want a collector car, they should put their dollars into the GTHs that are coming up for sale. Even the Shelby GT is more Shelby than the Gt500.

I tend to agree, however, I don't think the GTH's and the Shelby GT's are going to be as collectable as this (atleast value wise). Collectors aren't simply looking at the Shelby name, they're looking at the package as a whole. The uniqueness, power, build numbers, etc. It's the same as saying, what's more valuable, a '66 GT350H, or a '69 GT500? One built by Shelby, the other built by Ford. The GT500 will always be more valuable. I think unless Mr Shelby passes in the near future, the Shelby GT's will go pretty soft, and the GT500's will hold pretty strong. If he dies, the value of anything with his name on it will go through the roof, IMO.

I also think there are a lot of collectors banking on the GTH's and GT's to be collector cars, and there will be a bunch of them stashed away. Unfortunately that won't help their value. Just like the '94 pace car convert cobras. A LOT of people thought they were going to be very valuable down the road so a LOT of them got stashed away. Now, you can pretty much find 5 at any time with less than 100 miles on them and the values gone because there are so many available still in new condition. This is more of an observation than my opinion.

Not everyone that owns one gives a rats ass about the Shelby badge and didnt pay over 50k for the car. God I wish this car was selling 5k under right now because there would be nothing left to bitch about with this car.
Sorry to hear Chuck:cuss: Wait and see what happens when the 08 order info comes out in a few weeks. Might help get some 07s moving.?

Stripe Delete , I was reffering to what someone said about the Shelby badge carrying weight. I never said that everyone buys one for the badge , nor did I say that everyone paid 10 to 20k over. Have a hot pocket and calm down.

Well if you do your home-work,soon enough YES,you can buy a 2007 shelby GT500 for MSRP. Thers's 3 of us that did from a dealer in Baton-Rouge,Louisiana,back in December of 2004. We were able to put a deposit of $500.00,down and lock in at MSRP,and thats exactly what we paid. We were just lucky, and did our home-work properly, and most of all had a dealer that was willing to work with us.I don't see how this is a limited amout of shelbys Gt500,being produced, when there building around 8000/9000,units in 2007,and same in 2008.I do not know about 2009,though,unless mr. Carol Shelby renogicates a new contract that's all we will see,is a two year run.But rest asure Ford has other projects up there sleeve, for the future mustang. A lot more Muscle too come down the line in the future years or so. Just my thoughts.

well the 08's have been delayed around a month or so. I spke to chris at svt/Ford performance today. He said there building more 2007 models at the present time, and the 2008 production will be delayed a bit. So they can build more 2007 models, but the order banks will soon open up for the 2008 models. Said there building around 9000,shelby Gt500,for 07,or more.
