Anything Rolex is a good purchase because they hold their value generally...the only negative is the service costs. Rolex recommends service every 2 to 3 years and its not cheap. My buddy just had his 5 year old Submariner serviced and it was $1200 for a standard service where they cleaned and oiled the movement and replaced the gaskets. Everything with Rolex is pricey, but any high end watch is going to be in the same ballpark. I've been told the 5 to 7 year service on the Speedmaster is around $700....so its something to keep in mind.I have always wanted a simple Rolex, but car parts always seem to take priority. Now that I don’t have a 5 year moneypit project, maybe I will reconsider getting one

I remember that one. I almost bought it. Decided to instead go with a white face. Seeing that one again, I wish I had chosen blue.I have a similar watch. Bought it about 28 years ago.

Carrera is definitely on my list...very nice.My small collection:
Tag Carrera Day Date
Tag Aquaracer Chronograph
Tag Formula 1
Shinola 1069 (gotta rep Detroit)
Citizens Eco Drive
Daily Citizens Eco Drive and the Formula 1 the most
Next watch will be a Omega Planet Ocean without a doubt. After, I don’t know. Probably a Tissot V8 and maybe another Shinola to add to the daily collection.

The father of the ETA movement, always loved this lesser known brand.
