Now you're making me really want good subframe connectors. It was an unmolested, low mileage car. It happened to the person I sold it to soon after they bought it. Maybe a detail is missing but the glass installer said it wasn't the first one that came in for it. My next 03 Cobra convertible cracked the front windshield when I jacked the rear corner of the car up. Split from pass lower corner up on an angle.
Do it revvv I even felt a noticeable difference when I put them on my coupeNow you're making me really want good subframe connectors.

Of course now is the time to discover these issues. That's why they're in the testing stage. You have no way of knowing exactly why they're running 1000hp motors, so let's take the word "sure" out of the equation. Regardless, GM's goal is for a "later this year" release, they're only got 7-8 months to work out the chassis issue and other issues. That is not a lot of time.Let's be honest with ourselves....now is the time to discover these issues, before the car reaches the public. I'm sure they are running 1000 hp motors to do accelerated wear and tear testing
thanks for confirming what I already saidOf course now is the time to discover these issues. That's why they're in the testing stage.

Probably one of the best things about the S197 and S550. Seriously strong subframes. You didn't want them before? The difference is MASSIVE. I didn't put them on my 88 GT. A few years later when I got my second GT, I had some installed, and instantly wanted to kick my earlier self in the nuts for not doing it on the first one. When I finally got my '03 Cobra, they were literally the first thing I had installed.
Every time I see the C8, I see a Ferrari.I wish they'd call it something else. It just doesn't have the Corvette muscle car look to it at all anymore. The C7 doesn't either, I guess, but this is much different.
GM sucks at developing something? shocker.
As an engineer....The engineers on this program probably piss out more car knowledge every morning when they get up, than this entire site will ever know. All we do is bitch and complain about the things that pretty much all of us would give our left nuts to actually do.
If you aren’t breaking stuff, you aren’t trying hard enough. This is a normal part of the process.
With that logic we'd still be driving cars from the 40's and flying biplanesAs an engineer....
I'll impart what I've learned after 23 years in my trade.
Fresh out of school engineers don't know their ass from a hole in the wall.
After years of learning their trade, they finally become proficient in their field and end up becoming project managers where that knowledge is pretty much wasted.
Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
You ever wonder how things we've been making for years keep getting design screwups? Yep. The fresh engineer worked on it. Or....even better (my personal favorite)....let's have the interns design this widget!
No, these cars are not designed by people with as much knowledge about the subject as you would believe.
Even better, most of the parts are designed by outside firms and makers like GM just integrate those parts (Moog, Siemens, Bosch....)
For example, the LAN issue. Machine makers have been using this concept for communication between modules for the last 20 years. Ask any engineer who has worked on a PLC or DCS in the last 2 decades. But, not many car designers have a clue that technology is out there. Because they don't develop that technology, the third party firms do......see my comment about integrating parts.

My wife said the same thing.Every time I see the C8, I see a Ferrari.
Pretty sure the A10 Warthog uses fabric wings....like a biplane.....
