Our local two day match play event starts tomorrow. It's amazing the difference when playing in a tournament like that vs just Tuesday night league or hangin' with the boys. Calcutta tonight so maybe I can get some good buys and cash in.
Shot 83, 82 and took my flight by nine strokes. I bought myself for $500 and the second place finisher in my flight for $550 and he bought half of himself back so that should be a decent payout. I had a couple other third place finishers but I spent $3700 on the night so I probably broke even. I won $500 in pro shop credit so that's cool too.

Edit: I netted about $750.

Well had a tee time for 4:04 this afternoon. I knew going in it was going to be busy and slow with all the weekend warriors....

A bunch of groups of 4 and 5 ahead of us. It was just the wife and I. Took nearly 50 minutes to finish 3 holes!!!!

We called it quits. How do you stay focused and enjoy the game when it's like that?

Unbelievable.

So came home and grilled burgers and brats. Going to mow the lawn at the office and try a different course a little earlier tomorrow..

I don’t watch time when on the course for the most part.

I like getting out early though. No way in hell I’d play in the afternoon. I had a lesson at 9a yesterday and I was drenched at the end of it. Too ****ing hot!

Just 21 days until the Vista-Ocean round at Puerto Los Cabos and 46 days until Disney’s Lake Buena Vista course.

Adjusted my 3 wood and hybrid back to stated loft and neutral setting. Moved the 4 hybrid up a degree. Hoping to see how it goes on course this week, maybe Thursday.

I usually don't mind a little slow play. But there comes a point where I get frustrated waiting forever and any rhythm that I had is gone.

People should be learning golf etiquette first. And I get frustrated when our club allows groups of 5 with people that rarely golf. I'm a high handicapper, but I can keep a good pace in respect for others out trying to enjoy this game.

I did get frustrated about two weeks ago when I had to golf with a rage golf bro. He made me look like a scratch golfer. Hit 3-4 tee shots and still claimed a 5 on the first hole. Was more like a 10-15. He also kept slamming his clubs off the ground. Thankfully he quit at the turn.

I shot a shit ass 112 last round. Course was not long, the sand and rough were legit. Rough was thicker than a 60’s Amish bush.

In an effort to play better I purchased an online training program.

Doing a drill I quickly realized I don't know shit about proper impact position. I have also been using my left knee incorrectly for years.

You'd think that I would have been told this at some point during the dozens of lessons I've had. Very frustrating.

I have a ton of stuff to relearn and fix.

Got my first round in a long time next Friday. With some luck I'll keep it below 100.

Swing easy, take your 3w and hybrid out of the bag, lay up instead of trying for the hero shot, no 3 putts and you'll break 90.

Maybe not take that 3W out. A lot of people are more accurate off the tee box and can usually hit it near as long as their driver.

I am using my 3W more on narrow fairways.

Even better, take the Driver out! lol. I just meant to take away any temptation to go for the 276 yard hero shot over water to the green. Take your five, leave seven off the table and move on.

18 x 5 = 90. Be happy with bogey until you are trying to break 80.

I am working a lot on a more solid approach and the mental aspect of the game. My mental game is shit. Perfect example, course by the house has water you need to carry all of 30 yards to clear it off the tee box. I’d say 75% of my tee shots are in that water. Meanwhile I have a 329 yard tee shot on the first hole under my belt. My next round I plan to hit the 3W as a 250 yard tee shot gives me a soft 100 yard PW to the middle of the green.

Thanks for the advice but I don't pull clubs out of my bag.

If I did my 3 wood would never be one of them. I hit it insanely well even off the deck, so much so that I've considered ditching my regular driver for a mini.

I can still pitch and chip very well for taking so much time off, that will be my saving grace as always.

Played a 9 hole course today that I've played a few times this year. My lawn is better than these fairways, lol. But it's still a fun course.

Two chip ins for birdie, and a handful of pars. I always have a bad hole or two that hurts my score. I had two 9's.....and still shot my best round this year.

45/48=93.

Wife still shot a 88 .

I played Wednesday and my game was a shit show. Things just did not go well. Lol!

Highlights of the day was that the guy I got paired up with was a fun person to play a round with. He brought his wife, she just rode, it was their 3 year anniversary and they were just good people.

I did hit a 304 yard drive, no slope, and a 336 yard drive, slope. I hit a stupid shot on a hole that was 374 yards. Now, that 374 yard shot did not count and perspective, I hit a 268 deck tee box shot with a 21 degree hybrid.

My 3 wood didn’t work at all for me. My 4 hybrid I hit 215 uphill, 237 no slope, and the 268 sloped shot.

I somehow lost 7 ****ing balls I saw land and bounce.

They also just sanded the greens so they were not consistent like they usually are.

The greens keeper apparently was in a hateful mood. Second hole, 360 yard par 4, the tee box was dead center behind a tree with water in front and left of the tree.

Still had a fun day.

Played Puerto Los Cabos today.

The course was incredible and views were amazing.

The highlight was three drives over 300 yards with a new PB of…

Now, that was helped by an 85 foot elevation change. But it was on the fairway. Yep, 396…

At sea level... That's salty. What did you shoot?

Shit ass 103…

The uneven lies and bunkers killed me. The green side bunker walls were all like 6 feet high that I ended in. And I need to work on hitting uneven lies.

Early in the round I was also struggling with putting as the pro said the greens were fast and not to go off the practice greens as they had just been worked on. The morning the greens were some of the slowest I had played. After 6-7 holes they sped up.

I also hurt myself with the mental game. Until last week I struggled with a power fade-slice. I made a tweak and it has turned into a baby draw to baby fade but I was playing the power fade-slice. I hit a few OB left turning the ball over with monster drives that have been 25-50 yards shorter due to the shot shape. Two I sliced due to overthinking the shit I was trying to play. Again, not trusting in my new found driver shape.

Last is getting used to my iron-wedge changes. I was originally fitted for 1/2” over standard due to over exaggerated lean. I’ve changed my address and cut down to standard with midsize grips last weekend. Trying to acclimate to the changes.

I’m confident I will acclimate but need to have faith in myself which is lacking.
