Wow, that's impressive. GOOD for him. I'm sure he worked hard building the business he has sold.

Just about finished my application up! I don’t think I’m going to do a video though. I couldn’t locate my old cobras VIN I hope that doesn’t hurt my chances

Looking forward to see the racecar at the glen this summer

Nick, I'm very happy for you! This thing is going to be a monster.

Something I've wondered about...I thought it was originally mentioned that these would be handled via Ford Concierge, much like how the GT was delivered. Now I'm wondering why they did that video thing within the dealer network a couple of weeks ago. Are they not going to be delivered direct to the owner and run through the dealer network instead?

It is pretty much exactly the same as GT. Actually, it's a little more like what GT should have been. There are fewer concierges this time but they are more experienced with the product category. They came by my place a couple weeks ago with Steve Coates, the delivery guy you'd see in all the GT delivery videos, for some program prep. Steve will be traveling his ass off doing deliveries again, but I would expect at least an additional 2 delivery specialists.

Dave, in a video a couple of months ago, Larry from Multimatic stated that they were working on pulling ~80lbs of weight out of the vehicle. He's also hinted that the car would be near "GT500 weight." Is it safe to assume the GTD will not be under 4,000lbs?

Yeah, extremely safe. The ~80 lbs is roughly what it loses by switching all the panels but the doors to CF. Lotta extra hardware beyond that.

The car is heavy but the GT500 doesn't drive like it's as heavy as it is, and the GTD behaves like it's a lot lighter than a GT500. Very sophisticated piece of machinery.

I looked at the ford website and disappointed its only coming in 8-speed auto. I thought Ive seen posts that it was supposed to be available in manual as well?

Are they street legal?

Auto only, and unique as the trans is in the back for weight distribution. Because of this location, it also makes for a crazy rear suspension, where the shocks are inboard, in the trunk over the transaxle.

Yes GTD is street legal.

Any other details, is it full carbon body? How much does it weigh? Their goal is after the 992 GT3? Or 992 3RS?

Even tho id never get one, it’d be nice if you can build it on the ford website!!

Currently looking for a dealer that'll work with me on a diecast or plastic buildable 1:18. Will probably be dependant on financing availability

I got you.

I'm having a 1:18 Lego of my car made right now...second one
