I picked up some "performance" ceramic pads off ebay for around $65 front an rear. Haven't put the fronts on yet, but rears appear to make same amount of dust as what was on it.

Depends on what you want out of your brakes. Just DD, Pep Boys stuff will do just fine. If you're looking performance, I've always heard good things about HAWK pads.

Hawk pads will absolutely destroy stock calipers... Here are some that my friends are running and they stop awesome and last a long time! I got quoted $170 for cross drilled and slotted rotors front and rear about a month and a half ago.

I prefer Porterfield pads...their R4-S pads are excellent for more demanding high-performance street use. They also offer decent OE-replacement rotors for our cars.

^^^ These guys look pretty awesome(rotor pros). I asked for a quote to see if I cant finish up my brakes.

Im still running stock rotors but have SS lines and hawk pads all the way around. Ide recommend hawk pads and SS lines to start off.

^LOL

I'm going with brembo blanks and ford pads. I may go as far as to paint the rotor hats so they don't rust and repaint the calipers though!

How do Hawk pads destroy stock calipers?

They are such a hard compound and material that they dont wear very easily and will wear the rotor quicker than the pads. They wont necessarily destroy them but they will wear them out much much quicker.

Oh so you meant ROTORS!!!

I use the cheapest blank stock style rotors I can find on sale as long as they equal the OEM Brembos, and I use Carbotech pads.

Yes I use a different set of pads on track, still Carbotech though.

They are the quietest, most rotor friendly, low dusting, high grip pads I have found so far.

What ever you guys decide to get MAKE SURE YOU BED THE ROTORS AND PADS IN CORRECTLY!!!
This is such a huge mistake that keeps happening over and over day after day.

I have no plans of changing brands at this time.

Jimmy i hope nothing was directed at me. Me wanting new rotors is not for the looks by any means. Ill be hopefully doing what you do by halfway through the summer but well see. So any improvement to the braking system without changing it is a plus.

Ive heard blanks work the best(thankfulley they are vented stock), but how would drilled/slotted not improve over blank at all? Specially for racing?

I don't blame you guys for wanting something that's exotic looking.
BUT...
Unless the diameter is increased(increased brake torque through greater leverage) over the solid or slotted version you are taking valuable heat absorbing mass out of the fire path and also decreasing slightly the swept area by the sum of the added area of the holes.

Us track guys are so hard on the rotors that unless you run expensive cast in holes drilled rotors...(Usually a 14" kit under 18" wheels) they crack and will come apart, and that can wreck your day!

I can't afford to spend extra money on something thats going to get worn and spider cracked eventually anyway and needs replacing again.

Anyone planning a track day or two I always recommend brake cooling ducts. You can leave them on and they will never hurt anything and they make stock style pads last longer in a track environment. No issue with street driving and I have had them on since day in 04.

The coated ones seem like a nice option if you don't want rust at the hat area. Bumps the price quite a bit though.

Here's a goofy little xtranormal thing I put together, maybe you guys will be amused.. maybe not.

LOL jimmy that was pretty good. I dont need anything exotic looking. My car isnt exactly eye catching nor is it a show car anyways so i dont really care.
Ive been talking to those guys, and they suggested just the slotted rotors if i am going to track it(and for the price, they cant really be beat).

Im not going to get them right away as Im strapped for money, but maybe partway through the summer as the rotors on my car are original i think anyways lol but theyl work fine for now no doubt.

Ive looked at the brakiing ducts, but then i have to take my fogs out, and i can barely see anything as is because of the smoked headlights, but oh well. What duct set do you recommend? agent47? griggs? Or home made?

But i agree with you in everything you said and completely understand. And now with my new job i have a better chance to road track my car a few times this summer. The rest of my brakes are already done. Well see what this summer brings
