Yep, that's a real flathead catfish. It was pulled out of a whole 7 feet of water! Joel fought it for about 55 minutes on 12lb test!

Get out the pliers and heat up the oil, I'm on my way. I've only caught one bigger than that and it was on a trot line. We had to nail it to a tree to skin it.

Any idea how much that beast weighed? That is huge. Congrats Joel.

It was approximately 41 pounds; 45 minutes out of the water.

Tabres: It was pulled from the Hennepin Canal, about a 1/2 mile from my house.

Thanks, yeah I've been lifting a lot of weights lately. All the chics have been saying that too. :p:p

Yeah Steve was right, it weighed 41lbs. I fought it for almost an hour and my buddy Jeremy actually grabbed it's mouth and pulled it in when I got it close enough to shore. Steve took the pics.

Thanks everyone, I won't forget this day!!

I love using light line. I used to fish for stripers in the ocean with 15lb test. I loved going at night and plugging for them. I wont subject my Cobra to the salt air now though so I haven't gone in a long time.
