As some of you saw the other day I got to drive an RS7 for the weekend as my car received some service. I always wondered how much "better" an S7 or RS7 would be over my car...The S7 is priced around 11K more than A7 and the RS7 is 45k more at a minimum over my a7 and with options it can be 65K more! Literally double the price (new)! It's hard to understand something like that...until you finally get to drive one...lolol.
As most of you saw I fell in love instantly. The car drives much stiffer than my A7, handles infinitely better and the brakes...the brakes! Then you have the ass ripping twin turbo v8 under the hood making 560hp stock! The A7 is much more luxury...it floats wonderfully down the road, makes great power (especially modded) but the RS7 is kinda like having an old but talented point guard on the team and then getting steph curry in his prime...haha...
After having it for the weekend I talked to the audi dealer Monday and got the full lowdown...perfect service history blah blah...then another miracle of epic proportions happened...the service manager called me back and told me he knew the PO...not only was the car perfectly maintained BUT the car has an APR tune on it...programmable through the cruise stalk!!!!!
All weekend I drove around stock when I was one button away from unleashing a 700hp mid 10 second quarter mile ANIMAL!!!! So now I beg the dealer to let me come back and drive it for another half away (so I can load the tune) lol. They of course LOVE that idea.
I get there, load the tune and find out it has 4 tunes on it...stock, 93 octane, 100 octane and 104 octane! All programmable through the cruise stalk in seconds! It also has a valet mode.
I load the 93 octane tune and away I go...JEEEEEEZUS!!!!! Seriously, these are the moments we dream of as young gearheads. 0-60 somewhere in the mid to high 2 second range and 0-100 not long after! Violent acceleration!!!! It literally puts your ass in the seat and you hang on...lighting quick shifts. No spinning, all business!!!! And to think I got another 55hp on the table with just fuel!
I pulled over for a minute, calmed myself down and just sat in amazement. haha. This car was coming home whether my wife liked it or not!!!! haha...I think all of us married men can understand that moment when we are like IDGAF what she thinks...lol.
Anyways a deal was struck that day! I even had them repair a scratched rim and add tint to the deal. The car is so dam good. Here are some pics from the dealers website...hoping to hit the track in the next week or so and post video/slips.
