*Yesterday* but doing the same thing today this afternoon. Took the Cobra out for the first time this year. Been lucky with some on time spring weather and temps. Rained a few days ago to clear off any remaining salt on the roads even though it had not snowed since mid Feb.

Felt good to drive the Cobra again. It sat since Nov but drove as though it was never put up at all. First Drive.jpg

The first Spring drive is always fun. I love the stance and wheel. Nice power and awesome torque!

The stance is going to change some, its too low and I hate the suspension on it so that's one thing I'm addressing this summer

Currently TDY for the next few months and trying really hard not to spend per diem on parts. This is how I left the cobra, was hoping my F-1A would have come back from the rebuilder before I left but of course it got there the day after so wasn't able to do anything.

Anyway, once I get home I have a ton I need to do:

    - reinstall blower with smaller pulley and measure for new belt
    - replace blower belt tensioner
    - pull trans to inspect clutch (really bad chatter at high rpm last time I took it out)
    - wheel spacers and poly isos for more tire clearance
    - new oil pan/gasket
    - new tune/tuner
    - vinyl-wrap roof/A&C pillars
    - wire in interceptor gauge
    - drop IRS for complete rebuild

Now if I lose self control and start buying crap:

    - TW cams
    - BMR k-member (if it's true they fixed the fitment issues)
    - total suspension refresh
    - big brakes
    - flsc system
    - wall-mounted spring compressor (it's been sitting in my amazon cart for a year) 20210210_143015.jpeg

I bought a new battery for mine a couple of weeks ago and then drove it this weekend while the family was out of town. I tweaked my tune for cold start ups, and some how my wideband isn't reporting correctly on my logging program. Its been so long I'll have to figure out how to adjust it as I don't remember anymore....it felt good to get the old girl out again.

FTBR kit installed along with their deluxe bumpsteer kit
    Pinion seal replaced
    Fuel filter
    MM steering rack bushings
    Got her home
"Installed" new trunk lid struts. Took all of about 12 seconds and boy is she snug now
Still gotta swap out the Tri-ax for a new MGW. That said, the Steeda piece will be up for grabs if anyone's interested. I leave this afternoon, but will be back early next week.
Need new rear skins, alignment, and typical spring/summer prep and she'll be ready to terrorize the streets again.

How does the car feel? I'm dropping mine off Friday, doing FTBR full kit, shocks struts, springs, rack bushings, steering shaft, and CC plates

I didn't really get a chance to put her through her paces due to traffic and cold pavement. I will say, however, that the rear definitely has a more solid feel both in general and when going over bumps. It almost reminds me of my RS in normal mode; maybe not quite as firm, but still sharp and confidence inspiring. I already had race springs, CC plates, and B8s so you'll likely feel an even greater difference doing it all at one time. I added the beefier front diff brace as well. I can't tell if it's my imagination or what but I feel like the rear fender gap is reduced slightly. Maybe it's fantasy since the car's been under a cover for months. Maybe it really does sit a touch lower. Either way, it looks perfect in my opinion.

I do have a fair amount more gear whine from the trans and/or diff than I had before. Partially what finally nudged me to swap out the Tri-ax for an MGW. I've also got a bunch of leftover Dynamat that I plan to stick down in there to see if I can quiet her down a tad. If not, well, race car problems. lol

The steering is certainly tighter. Not razor sharp like modern electric steering in a performance car, but the bushings removed some of the slop in the wheel; it seems to react sooner. Once the weather improves and I can throw her around a bit I'm sure I'll have more to report. I've never had a wheel hop issue, but I'm interested to see how she hangs on in a straight line now.

That's good to hear. I also am going with the b8s and race springs, subframe connectors, and sway bars.

Did a touchup polish on the exhaust pipes. Not perfect, but much better.

Not today but yesterday; checked fluids, washed and brought her out of hibernation for her first drive. Went to pick up the kiddo from daycare, apparently she went nuts when she heard me parking. Forgot how loud my Cobra was, I missed driving this thing lol.

Picked up some valve covers from the powder coated today. Now I need to order some hydrodip film so I can do the VC's. Put the exhaust back on tonight. Cleaned the air filter, can re oil it tomorrow after it dries. Polished and ceramic coated 1 wheel.... hahaha

Doing everything but swapping the leaking like lock solenoid which is all it really needs to get done to drive the car. It is just a crappy job so I'm delaying as long as possible.
