Thats going to be too big on the stock 18" wheel. I had a 285/40/18 nitto on a the stock wheel and it buldged pretty bad. The tire I would recommend on the stock wheel is the 265/40 Mickey thompson. Its about a inch shorter than the stock tire. It doesn't look horrible if you are lowered, stock height it stands out pretty bad but they hook very well.

For me with how expensive the larger wheel DR's are Im getting a set of 15" racestars and whatever tire I want. Alot more tire options and sizes also alot cheaper tires. After the 2nd tire set the price difference between a 18-19 drag radial and a 15. The wheels will be paid for.
Do you have any pics of the 285/40/18 on the stock wheel and also how tall was the overall diameter? I also still have the stock suspension so a little bulge should be okay.

I don't have any pics of it. The overall diameter is 27in which is pretty close to stock height. Nitto is the only one I know of that makes that size in a drag radial.

Can 315 size tire fit under the fender wells or does the fender wells need some 3lb sledge hammer time?

How do the tires handle in the rain? What size tires are you running in the front. That looks really good , I like the stance.

I don't know how they handle rain! My car is not a DD but I would imagine it handles like any other if driven correctly on them. The front tires are the factory 235/50/18 (27.2") tires, and the stance is on sportlines and steeda dampers and upper adj control arm

op i can provide some feedback on drag radials for a dd as i have been dd'ing them for years. to me overall they are a good compromise. you have to be extremely careful in the rain... i go very, very slow when it's wet. in fact, if i lived in a place that had more rain, i would have to think twice about it.

i only get about 5k to 7k MAXIMUM per set. but it is real nice to have the traction on the street when needed. :burnout:

best of luck!

Yea im loving your setup. Glad you chimed in. How wide is your rear 275? OP good thread because i was wondering the same thing about using the factory wheel with DRs.

hey were bought brand new from Summit racing for $373.62. I have less than 500 miles on them as my car only has about 800 total miles. They are just worn past the initial rubber flecks that come off the tire mold. The tread is pretty close to 100%. I never burned out with them, took them to the strip, etc. All easy mileage and practically brand new. I ordered a new set of tires already and need them sold.

Reason for selling them: Too aggressive for regular street driving. We get a lot of rain and they are easy to hydroplane. Nothing wrong with the tires. Great traction especially for the strip. I had no other option for that size and didnt realize how aggressive they were. Awesome tire but not for me.

Looking to get $300 per tire, not wanting to part. Shipping not included but willing to work on the price if needed. Text me at (330) 904-0677 for pictures or questions! -Robbie

265/40R18 here. When car was stock, couldn't spin 'em. Now, it launches hard but starts spinning when I get to about 3000 RPMs. Gonna put BMR upper and lower control arms on to see if it will stop. I doubt it.

I am running M&H race masters in 275/45/18 on the stock 5 spoke 18" wheel, there is not much bulge! The m&h run a bit narrow and the tire fits perfect with no rubbing and I am lowered on sportlines!

You are running these on stock 18x8? Surprised. M&H site says those need a 9" rim.
