Had a 10 spline with a Spec stage 3 clutch while the car was making 470hp/490tq. I raced another mustang and the input shaft snapped in half. Upgraded to the 26 spline and Spec stage 3+ and steel flywheel. Car makes 578hp/618tq now

great numbers on here guys, i guess im going with the 26 spline and spec 3+ clutch, fiore quad and firewall adjust, OEM line, pro 5.0 ( i already have in the box)

D&D 26 spline with spec 3+.

Preventative maintenance on my part, car only had 30k miles and I'm at 490/490. One less thing to worry about to me.

I have a friend with a turbo mach 1 making 470whp on a mustang dyno. He snapped his stock 10 spline in the 3650 last weekend with some MTs and a spec 3+ clutch. That clutch is so heavy I guanantee thats what did it.

He is in the process of getting a 26 spline as we speak. Does anyone know where he can get one for less than 480 bucks? Promotion is the only place that can get him one fairly soon.

that sounds like a good plan :thumbsup:

even though probably not necessary for my power levels, the way i looked at it at the time was since i have it all apart and could afford it, why not upgrade? upper only, 450/450

Please don't ask how many sets of front pads.:(:nonono::bash:

Fck it I'm gonna ask it being that no one else did. How many pads did you go through? ;-)

I voted 10 but 26 is on the LBT right now. (Little Brown Truck) Neighbors must think I am crazy.

i'm in the same boat, i'm at 501rwhp right now and am about to order a clutch, can't decide weather to go 10 spline or 26 spline...

i've never installed an input shaft before, i'm guessing it shouldn't be that hard though

Stock clutch and 10 spline 610/530. I am on the fence with the 26 spline as I do not do any real hard driving but I would like any future owners not to have any issues. My guess here is I spend the extra $$ this week go spec 3 and put in the 26 spline.Its more or less a waste for me but maybe the Cobra gods will look favorably on me for looking out for the next guy :)

I had to replace my TOB about a year ago, and with 76k miles on the clutch it was time to replace that also, so I upgraded to a 26 spline input shaft. Even though I only had 432 at the rear wheels at the time, I planned for power increases.

switched to 26 spline when i did the 3+, now moving to an RXT. if your using a grabby clutch, you might as well switch to 26 for the added security
