I know a lot of us are BPU guys (basic performance upgraded guys) making anywhere from 450 - 500 RWHP SAE.

Was just curious what your definition of this range of HP is.

I used to think this car was FAST, but now it's just "decent".

Every time a buddy tells me "this car is freakin' quick", I just smile and ask "you wanna go for a ride in my fast mustang?" And out comes the LX.:-D

450-500 rwhp in a daily driver is plenty. 858 rwhp is monstrous!

I have a problem with getting used to my power levels to quickly. @ over 600hp it still "feels" decent to me. But the car is fuggin fast when you look down at the speedo. Now if i was in a lighter car with 600 hp then it would be FAST

For a streetcar, I'll definately say high. Monster would be 650+, now this is on a streetcar, not a stripped, beefed up track queen racer mind you.

LOL... there must have been a few ricers surfing by...

So far everybody whom I've taken for a ride, including ricer friends, thinks the cobra is freakin fast. It's fine for everyday driving, but it's no where near a monster-level of a car. A monster-level to me is when 4th gear accelerates like 2nd gear in a BPU 03 cobra. Now that's friggin insane!

To me, 300 is friggin crazy, but then again I drive a 91 Maxima, so you know. But i have driven dads 98 cobra that has about 305, somethin like that, and that thing feels like a beast...to a 17 yr old atleast.

I think what I've got now is decent but the 03+ Cobra is a heavy car. My old 1995 Mustang GTS didn't make much more power than my Cobra now and less torqe (470/420 vs 450/445) but with a different boost curve and a 500# weight advantage, it simply flew above 4000rpm (ie freeway blasts). That was the only reason I swapped pulley's on the Cobra, this tank needs some torque to get in moving and that's just what the pulley gave me.

You have to love the times we live in now where a 500hp car is considered average.:)

I know of 2 130MPH hondas around here. I can't touch that, so in all honesty HP doesn't mean $hit. It's all in the MPH which is a good representation of HP:weight and gearing...

I entered that range just a couple of weeks ago. It still feels great, but I'm already feeling the need for more. I'd say 450-500 rwhp is enough to take care of most things on the road. What are the odds of getting waxed with this much power?

If you think it's average, go out and rent a V6 Mustang for 2 weeks then hop back in the car. That'll set ya straight again. ;-)
