Waiting for the engine to go POP!

That's alot of coin. But since most are dynoing under 500whp- that's 200whp for $10k.

For $10k- I would expect my GT500 to have 850whp. KB- fuel- cooling etc

Guys what if the GT 500 did the whole thing like that guy I mean just adding
a 4.0 Whipple, a throttle body plus a tune ..it's gonna be easy 250 RWHP
Still under the 8000 $ and let's say that's a stage 1 :fart:

FYI, that 714whp at KDI is also on an optimistic dyno. The car is an auto and made 508whp as a stock baseline, which is a good bit higher than what most autos are laying down.

KB 3.6 kit and long tubes should get you some good power :)

But...but...according to magazine tests where the GT500 won nearly every instrumented performance metric to include splitting fastest lap times on various tracks, the ZL1 "feels better".

Actually, he traded that car in already. It would also not be anywhere near 740whp on a "normal" dyno. That was on a dynapack, and his baseline was also silly high for an auto, at 512whp ;)

But saying you have a ported heads, ported supercharger, cam, upper/lower pullies and other mods just sounds so much cooler then just an intake, pulley and a tune.

$15k to have a car that overspins a smallish blower atop Cast pistons? Sounds like an expensive time bomb. Still, lots of GM brandwhores will pay the price to try to hang with the Snake.

Notice how the GM aftermarket advertises based on estimated 'crank' horsepower. The mighty LSA '700' packages are really making 620 RWHP, or just a hair above the STOCK GT500. At least the name makes it sound fast... :rollseyes
